About this resort
Lakemore Retreat is comprised of two rental properties: 'Lakemore Lodge '(red house) and 'Lakemore Cottage' (green house). The Retreat is a wonderful option for large family reunions, intimate weddings (50 guests or less), corporate retreats, respectful bachelor and bachelorette parties and family vacations. Each home can be rented individually from their own sites, but many families rent both togeether for the same time period, altogether sleeping up to 24 people comfortably. The calendar on this listing is updated to reflect weeks that have both homes rented. The Cottage and Lodge are luxury homes built in 2015 that each sleep 12. They are side by side and offer exactly the same amenities and floor plan, just with very different interior design.

Come enjoy the many benefits of this all sports inland lake where the 395 acres are swimmable from May until October, the fishing is plentiful and the conditions are perfect for many water sports including kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding, water skiing, and tubing, all while being minutes away from Traverse City’s restaurants, shops, wineries, golf and more.
Lakemore Retreat is directly adjacent to The Brown Bridge Quiet Area which offers miles of hiking trails. Like to snowmobile? Leave right from the property and access Boardman Valley Trail System's 81 miles of trails! Boardman River is also within 3 miles, a great place to do river tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. We are only 7 mi. from Vasa Single Track, a great Mountain Bike trail system. In addition, the Vasa is home to 25 km of groomed cross country trails. Mount Holiday is only 15 minutes away, a local downhill ski hill. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is only 45 miles away.
This setting is perfect for relaxing lakefront vacationing away from the hustle of town, but be sure to leave time for a short 15-minute drive to the city. Traverse City is well known for its lakefront, with countless shops and restaurants. The greater Traverse City Area is nationally recognized for Old Mission Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula's many wineries, as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

We had the best time with our extended family! There was plenty to do for the whole family ages 1-65, we barely left the property! The staff and host were very responsive and easy to interact with, especially Tricia, Nick, and Mackenzie, and we had every amenity we could think of. The side by side houses were perfect for our family, and the ease of sharing amenities like beach and grill made it seamless. THANK YOU for a memorable family trip - we hope to come back!

We rented all three homes for 5 families during our stay. This property is absolutely beautiful. There are a few things to know though before you book. The owner’s family does live next-door and there are people on the property every morning—with blowers cleaning flowers, leaves, etc as early as 8am. They takes great pride in their property but to the extent that we felt uncomfortable and worried constantly about the kids making a mess or not putting the outdoor dishes back in the right house. Also quiet time starts at 10 PM. In June it was still light at 10 PM. After the kids went to bed we were so excited to finally have time for the adults to sit together and relax at the campfire but were texted immediately that our laughing was too loud as it carries over the lake and disturbs neighbors. Also there’s a no wake on the lake after 7:30 PM and before 11 AM. This does allow for peaceful kayaking but isn’t great if you are renting a boat. The other thing to note is the bathroom situation. There is one bathroom attached to the master and one more basically for the rest of the guests in the lodge and cottage. There is a bathroom in the basement however due to it’s lack of proximity to the bedrooms it doesn’t get used much. Again these homes are impeccably kept and gorgeous. We did enjoy ourselves and the property is beautiful but we do wish it would have felt a little more relaxing and private.
