Peace Retreat Bright

Styling great. Had most of what we needed to be comfortable and settled for a long weekend.

Some small cleaning issues in kitchen. Master bed mattress was soft.

We had a lovely week staying in Bright and overall really enjoyed the place. The house is nicely set up for a couple or a small group, with a great layout that makes it easy to relax after a day out. The location is also a big win — it’s just a short stroll to Bright’s restaurants, cafes, and shops, which made evening dinners and morning coffee runs very convenient. The place has been tastefully renovated and feels fresh and comfortable. The bed deserves a special mention — comfy and perfect after long days of cycling and running. The air conditioning also worked well, which we definitely appreciated.

There aren’t many pans, trays, or utensils to work with. Even small touches like salt, pepper, or a bit of olive oil would go a long way and are pretty common in many places these days. There’s also no coffee pod machine, which feels slightly unusual nowadays if you’re someone who relies on a quick morning coffee. But the biggest challenge for me was the hot water… or rather the not-so-hot water. I’m a big fan of a molten lava style shower, and after long days exercising I was very excited about the bath. Unfortunately the water temperature never really got there. The bath cooled down pretty quickly, so my dream of a long hot soak didn’t last very long. My partner didn’t seem bothered by this at all, but for anyone (particularly fellow hot-shower-loving women) who enjoys properly hot water for showers or washing up, it’s worth setting expectations a bit lower.

Cleanliness, bathroom and facilities. Excellent communication and Alana was amazing. Would definately stay here again at was modern, clean and the beds were really comfortable. Could not fault this place and definately a great place to stay in Bright.

There not really anything I didn't like. I would definately stay here again. This place is really good and exceeded my expectations. The hosts were very responsive to any questions and the facilities were excellent, especially the very modern bathroom and great toileteries. The only thing missing would have been a coffee pod machine (Aldi or Kmart) and milk Frother which would have made it complete. Apart from that excellent place to stay.

Great communication, easy checkin despite very late arrival. Lights were on to welcome us at midnight - accessed property easily. Laundry facilities were valuable for us. Great proactive communication from the owner about a potential power outage. Super comfy beds!

Very minor point but splashes from the shower make the bathroom floor quite slippery. Perhaps a hinged shower screen may help?
