About this cottage rental

The Old Chapel in the heart of one of the area's prettiest villages. Wootton Rivers is within the North Wessex downs Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, with beautiful walks along the Kennet & Avon Canal, the Ridgeway and Savernake Forest. The village has a 16th century thatched pub a few doors down from the Chapel. We are also on the National Cycle Network route 4 as well as near to great restaurants such as Stein's and Dan's in Marlborough.

The space

Perfect for couples looking for a quiet, romantic retreat or young families with one or two small children, the master bedroom is open to the stairs (stair gates top and bottom if required) with bedroom 2 off the main bedroom. (You are welcome to book for three adults as long as you are happy that the person in bedroom 2 must access the stairs and bathroom through the main bedroom.)

The kitchen is fully equipped including dish washer and washing machine. There is also a heated airer, iron and ironing board at the property. The shower room has underfloor heating.

There is a large fenced garden over looking a field, that typically has cows in during the spring and summer. The garden is accessed via the french windows so you can take in the views. (If you do bring a dog, please remember to remove any dog mess).

Guest access: Key safe

There will be an emergency contact number at the property. When we are in the village (we live very nearby) we can come to greet you or answer any queries.

Other things to note.
For foodies their is a wide choice of excellent pubs and restaurants in the local area, including: Rick Stein's, Dan's and Zaika in Marlborough, The Swan in Grafton, Red Lion in West Chisenbury, The Outside Chance in Manton, The Bell at West Overton and many others.

Wonderful location. Very dog friendly with great garden and dog park just a 5 minute walk away. Beautiful walks along the canal. Small but well equipped.

This home is in a quiet, beautiful village near innumerable interesting sites and walks. The kitchen is well-appointed and easy to use. The bathroom is clean and has a very nice shower. There is a private garden, a designated parking spot, a nice village pub, church and community center. It was a delightful and restful stay.

The property is truly amazing and even more so than when viewing it online, prior to making the booking. It is so well equipped and beautifully laid out, including the cosy log fire which our grandson enjoyed lighting and looking after it. Quite clearly a lot of thought has gone into the restoration of the building and if we could have stayed any longer, we certainly would have done so. We strongly recommend staying at The Old Chapel as it is located in a lovely friendly and peaceful village. There is a lovely 16th Century thatched roof pub within a few minutes walk, the publicans and staff make you feel very welcome. There is a cosy log fire in the restaurant area and there is a wide variety of food and drinks always available, which are excellent. We will definitely be returning to The Old Chapel in the New Year, as we had such a memorable time there over the Christmas period.
