Wild Dogs Lodge

This is a beautiful haven off the beaten path. Even though you are a short distance from a major thoroughfare, you feel removed from all the business of Lusaka and its surroundings. The food is outstanding, with creative takes on local dishes, using some of the healthier meals. For instance, I had a millet nshima and fish meal that was superb. We chose to have extra meals because they were just so good The chalets feel like regular safari lodges and have wonderful amenities. They provide a turn down service to make sure your room is rid of insects, because you are in the wilderness. Great toiletries. The warm water takes some adjusting, but is nice and piping hot. Wish the pictures would upload, but most won't. The staff is second to none, very, very friendly and accommodating. Tips are shared across service staff and given to the team before departure.

Costs on site are high to be expected...and...They charge in U.S. dollars and leverage the exchange rate so that you pay more in the local currency if you decide to use kwatcha. You'll also pay 5-6 times what you pay out in Lusaka for anything on site, so only buy curious if you are absolutely smitten. This is advertised as near Lusaka National Park on this website. They launch tours to Lusaka National Park, but are quite a distance from it, so as someone who travels locally this was a suprise. In fact, launching from the city proper would be easier, though not as tucked away. I'd recommend this place if you want a lodge experience and are just overnighting. Meals take awhile, but again are delicious.

Just lovely. Lovely surroundings and well maintained. Comfortable bed and great bathroom.

Liked it all!!

Staff a bit confused about orders and attention to detail was lacking

Cold water pressure in the room needs a look at. Water lovely and hot but hard to regulate with such poor cold water pressure.

Rooms were very well laid out and comfortable

Restaurant and staff were a bit distracted and the food was ok. It was very cold in the evening and no way to stay warm
