About this house rental

In the summer, we rent our main log home (5 bedrooms, 3 baths), Bunkhouse, and Cabin as a group. In total, the rental includes 9 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3.5 kitchens, 2 laundry rooms, and enough space to comfortably sleep 18 (if two/bed.)

Located in the heart of Paradise Valley, our scenic 20-acre property offers the perfect vacation spot for those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors. The Pleasant Pheasant, originally built as a family retreat, operated as a Bed & Breakfast for 10 years before opening its doors to renters. While often hosting large groups and families, the property can be enjoyed by anyone looking for easy access to Yellowstone National Park and a taste of unspoiled Montana and the quintessential Western town of Livingston.

The Pleasant Pheasant features a 5-bedroom log home with a cathedral ceiling, a large outdoor deck, and a screened-in porch. On the home’s main and upper floors, you will find 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. The home also includes a downstairs suite containing 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a full kitchen, and living and dining areas. In total, the main home sleeps up to 10 guests and contains 1 king bed, 3 queens, and 2 singles. We also have 2 small single cots for young children.

Adjacent to the main home, the 3-bedroom (3 queens), 1-bath Bunkhouse offers a kitchen, dining, and TV area, with separate laundry room. The house sleeps up to 6 guests.

Finally, the property includes a 1-bedroom/1-bath cabin with a queen sized bed, large bathroom, and mini-kitchen, sleeping up to 2 guests.

All kitchens are fully stocked with everything you need and more! We also offer free WiFi throughout the property.

We are conveniently located 17 miles south of Livingston and 35 minutes north of Yellowstone National Park. Two popular resorts, Sage Lodge and Chico Hot Springs, are only 10 minutes away and feature a pool, spa, restaurant, bar and more. Other nearby activities including river rafting and zip-lines on the Yellowstone, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, dog-sledding, and mountain bike riding. A fly fisherman's paradise, the Valley also boasts three of the world's top spring creeks, all within a 10-minute drive.

Walter and Margie are truly wonderful people and were extremely helpful and informative. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. Their cabins are just absolutely beautiful, clean, cozy and had everything we needed for our stay! We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave. It was a very quiet relaxing space with beautiful views from every direction. Also in such a great location. Our young kids had a blast and they had lots of stuff to do there. We all greatly enjoyed watching the Deer and their fawns come up every day close to the house to eat from the crab apple tree. We will for sure be coming back to stay! It was the best vacation/stay we’ve had yet.. everything was perfect!

Sometime ago (Sept '11), my family (wife and four kids then aged 11, 7, 7 and 5) stayed at The Pleasant Pheasant. With a change of jobs, I have just re-read my email to Margie after we got back to Australia. This is what I said:The Pleasant Pheasant will always be in our memories. It is such a fantastic location and cabin. For a family looking for a taste of Montana - we couldn't recommend it more highly. It is hard to describe the sense of space and majesty you feel when you are there. The two mountain ranges are breathtaking and constantly changing colours and feel. A storm rolled in one night and all we could do was stare as clouds rolled down the mountains. As for the log cabin, what can I say other than we felt right at home, which was exactly what we were after. The kids loved the freedom to be themselves, exploring in Elbow Creek, running around and around the cabin, watching a snake crawl across the yard and deer visiting for breakfast. The drive to Yellowstone National Park was a trip in itself. The Park is huge. I knew it was big but wow! I doubt you could explore what you wanted to in a lifetime. The kids are now Junior Rangers. An afternoon dip at Chicco with the kids was just what the doctor ordered. We also went to the Snowcamp (?) trail head but the kids wouldn't get out of the car until we promised the bears were all gone.Livingstone and Bozeman were both fabulous day trips. Dinner at Montana's Rib & Chop House in Livingston was a highlight. One day the kids parked themselves in the kids' library section of the library in Bozeman (after finding the best candy store in town). Museum of the Rockies was amazing. The kids are also now Bobcats' fans and we have photos and hats to prove it.I won't say goodbye but farewell as I hope you will let us stay again. We will definitely be back. We are already looking at You Tube videos of winter in Bozeman and we are keen for the kids to ski at Bridger and Big Sky. We look at the real estate pages and dream of owning a place in Paradise Valley."Yes. We will be back
