About this bed and breakfast
Private award-winning private garden & artist-retreat/guest suite/apartment in modern/renovated 1770's home. Private entry, high ceilings, stained-glass windows, private screened porch, shoji screens, hardwood floors, upscale bathroom. Luxury queen bed + linens. There are actually 2 bedrooms with queen beds: one downstairs in the main area and a separate 'loft' area overlooking the living space. Full kitchen.
Access to everything within minutes: (1) lake (2) Burlington dining/activities (3) private beach/kayaks (4) biking/hiking/skiing. Garden: private seating areas, custom sculptures, koi pond/stream, a full-size walking meditation labyrinth hidden in the woods, horticultural specimens, patio, firepit, hammocks, sports
Spectacular and private garden space sometimes used for private concerts, performances, martial arts practice, painting classes, meditating. The koi-pond is interesting in both summer and winter; frog-watching, lots of birds, wildlife. Outdoor seating areas with hammocks and a grill for cooking.
2nd bedroom is in a loft accessed via ladder. Nice, with queen bed. Lots of storage, closet space, drawers, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and toaster-oven, electric stovetop, dining table and utensils (plates, glasses, silverwear), heating and air-conditioning.
Plenty of onsite parking. Sports include chess/checker iron + glass table outdoors, badminton and basketball courts, cornhole tossing, labyrinth, and 2 State Parks within minutes with beaches, kayaking, cross-country skiing, etc. Multiple downhill ski areas, hiking trails, mountain resorts are within a short driving distance.

This was not our first stay at this sublime home-away-from-home, nor will it be our last. Ken, indeed, offers a premier experience. The apartment is beautiful and well-equipped and quirky in the best of all possible ways. To stay here feels like living in a fantastic dream with all of the comforts of home provided, but more beautifully and with a twist. If I could stay in the garden/s, I would. Each one tells multiple stories, feasts for the imagination as well as the senses. But then I’d miss out on the cozy bed and sumptuous bathroom. What’s not to love?!

Amazing property with plenty of space to relax and unwind. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the studio offers plenty of space. Great location. Can’t wait to rebook on our next trip!

From start to finish, our stay at this beautiful, peaceful property was next level satisfying. Ken is a wonderful host, graciously meeting us upon arrival, giving us a personal walk through of where we'd be staying, and pointing out the various items he had stocked the kitchen with (above and beyond!). He was ready with information for us about area restaurants and more. We lacked for absolutely nothing, were amazed with the fabulous art throughout our accommodations (inside and out), and the incredible gardens Ken has skillfully crafted on the property. The space itself is visually stunning, creatively designed, and so very comfortable to relax & rejuvenate in. We feel uniquely blessed to have found such a rare gem and look forward to returning to enjoy this gorgeous space and Ken's remarkable hospitality. In terms of a rating, five stars isn't even close to enough, this is easily a '10'! Thank you, Ken!

We had a fabulous stay here! We had 2 days of rain but loved sitting on the screened in porch and just relaxing and admiring the property. The grounds are absolutely magical - gorgeous landscaping, interesting art, lovely places to sit & fun to explore. When the rain let up a bit, we went into Burlington and then hiked Niquette State Park to enjoy the views of Lake Champlain & the islands as well as Mt. Mansfield. When the nicer weather appeared, we got in a great hike on Camel's Hump. This home is very private down a lovely wooded road, but only 10-30 minutes from almost anything to do in the area. Just a great location. The kitchen is a bit small but well-equipped and worked just fine to cook in every meal for 2 of us. The bathroom is large and very well appointed, and the whole house has interesting books and wonderful eclectic artistic touches everywhere. Ken was wonderful too. He met us when we arrived and showed us around & checked in with us via text the next day to make sure everything was ok. Highly recommend staying here!
