Location. Size.
Throughout our stay the electrics kept tripping out and the power would go off. When we spoke to the Agent they said it was probably the kettle. Not so, the power would just go off randomly at times. This happened on about 20 occasions during our stay.
The water pressure throughout the apartment is very hit and miss. In some places good, in some parts awful, in one bedroom water does not work at all.
The apartment is above shops and restaurants and so can be very noisy for at least 20 hours each day. You expect this as it’s in the centre and it is sort of ok, although delivery drivers arrive outside very early every morning (4am sometimes) in large trucks so do not expect a lie in on any morning!
The apartment is old and is in need of work on the electrics and the water, and in some parts smells of damp. It is noisy and the towels that they give you are frayed and slightly torn and very old. A plug is stuck in a sink and we can’t get it out.
The beds are comfortable though and the apartment is in a good position for the town and the balcony is nice to sit on in the sun.
Would we return to stay again in this apartment? Probably not. It needs a lot of money spending on it to be suitable as a holiday home rental. Even as I sit here writing this the family upstairs are thumping around on the floor and combined with all of the other not so good things I have mentioned we will stay somewhere else next time.
Don’t let this review put you off Cadaques though. This is our sixth or seventh visit. to Cadaques and it’s a wonderful place. Just stay somewhere else!
