About this cabin rental
Welcome to Pinnacle Point, a grand country Tudor manor with sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views. Just two miles from the Leatherwood Welcome Center and Saddlebrook Restaurant, this spacious retreat offers traditional antique-style charm and abundant space for families, groups, and horse lovers alike.
The home features two bedrooms and two bathrooms on each level, a large great room, a combined dining/kitchen area, and a port-a-cochere entrance. On the lower level, you'll find a recreation room complete with a kitchenette, bar, pool table, and game tables. The expansive entertainment deck spans the back of the house on both levels, with hot tub access from all four bedrooms and the rec room.
Set within Leatherwood’s scenic trail system, Pinnacle Point also serves as a training-friendly horse facility with a 4-stall barn, tie stall, tack room, wash bay, round pen, turnout, and a picnic area. There’s plenty of parking and turnaround space on-site.
Please note: Leatherwood’s roads are steep and narrow—only two-horse bumper pull or gooseneck trailers under 20 feet are recommended. Leatherwood is not responsible for any vehicle or trailer damage.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).
Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

We always enjoy Leatherwood,and anticipate returning for more. We had to leave a day early for personal reasons, but overall enjoyed the family time while we were there. Excursions are new each year. This year we rented a boat from Skyline Marina and enjoyed a dinner at Dan L Boone restaurant. Enjoying the property with tubing and trail riding has also been fun. And the Leatherwood staff is always 1st class. As for Pinnacle Point, I left there feeling like the owners do not enjoy renting the house to vacationers. All amenities were compromised. The hot tub cover was tattered and probably needs replacement. The view from deck is compromised by dense trees. The deck furniture is minimal, so we spent no time on the deck. There was no propane in the gas grill. The pool table triangle was missing, and there was no chalk for the sticks. The ping pong room air smelled toxic, so we chose not to play ping pong. TVs were small. Master bathroom showerhead was low grade. The massage chair was in disrepair. And, it seems as tho the pilot light for gas fireplaces was out. Without instructions, I could not ignite the gas fireplace. The ground floor master bath could not pick up wi-fi. The front door was worn, and not welcoming. It's a shame, because the floor plan is great. The kitchen was well stocked and spacious, the AC worked great, and we were comfortable inside the home at all times. All very important. It's a beautiful floor plan in a great location. With more intentional care from the owner, this could probably be a best seller. But in its current state, we would not recommend this home be rented out. Leatherwood stands above this setback, tho. We will do better to pick a home that caters to vacationers next time.

We have stayed at several properties at Leatherwood. This is the first time we have had an issue with odor, bugs and MICE! There were 2 dead mice in the downstairs hallway, the morning after we arrived. The entire house smelled like moth balls. It's a beautiful, spacious home but needs updating and care.
