About this cabin rental
Welcome to Happy Acres! This beautiful and well-maintained cabin sits on a knoll overlooking a nice stream with a pleasant waterfall. The surrounding grounds are landscaped with native plants and there are many places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. This property is surrounded by a forest of old growth deciduous trees--it will show spectacular fall color that you can enjoy from your porch.
The master bedroom is on the main floor with a private bathroom. Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a full-size bed, that share a full bathroom. There is additional sleeping on the trundle day bed in the loft area that opens to a queen-size bed.
The wood accents and some of the furnishings and flooring were made from trees that grew on the property!
The property adjoins the Headwaters State Forest. This state forest is part of a project intended to extend from Table Rock in South Carolina through Caeser's Head, Dupont and Gorges State Parks. Lots of room for exploring, biking and hiking. Enjoy wading in the stream or just relaxing in the nearby swing. No need to leave the property--plenty of wildlife and beautiful surroundings to appreciate.
But when you are ready to explore the area, you will find that we are at the center of great things to do! Dupont State Forest with its magnificent waterfalls, horse, biking and hiking trails is just down the road. Brevard is only about 8 miles away with shopping, arts and crafts, and great restaurants! Go the other direction and enjoy the day in Hendersonville, or travel a bit farther to Asheville. Other parks in the vicinity include Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park, Caesar's Head, and Headwaters State Recreation Area--all the hiking you want with lots of scenic waterfalls and overlooks. Access the Blue Ridge Parkway and take in some spectacular scenery. Be sure to go and see the Pretty Place Chapel while you are here, or walk to the top of Sassafras Mountain, the highest peak in South Carolina; both only a short drive from the house. Happy Acres is just a few miles from the East Fork of the French Broad River--known for excellent trout fishing!

The house had everything we could have asked for. The hosts were great at communicating, accommodating, and ensuring we had an amazing stay. I could not have asked for a better retreat with my family.

We had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving at this beautiful home! The setting was quiet and private, and the sound of the stream and waterfall was perfect for porch-sitting. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a delicious Thanksgiving meal. We absolutely would stay again!

The place is comfortable and very private. The completely wooded property is beautiful. The kitchen is nicely set up with anything you could want for fixing meals. There's lots of seating for larger families. Bedrooms are separated for privacy. It has all of the comforts of home.

The property has potential but is NOT what the description claims. The outside was very unkept. You could not explore or enjoy the property due to overgrowth and general neglect. If you want land to be able to just relax and walk in this is not for you. Outside furniture was unclean and you could still smell cigarettes. The “no slip pads” on the front porch steps would slide when you walked and cause you to stumble. There was used coffee still in coffee maker and towels still in dryer.
The inside was well stocked and house interior seemed overall clean. Wifi worked well.
