Chez Mera Self Catering

Loved staying at Mera's. The apartment was clean and perfectly equipped for self catering. There is a large store a few meters away and everything on the island is easily reached by bike. Mera was very accommodating in changing our booking as our flight was delayed by a day. She also assisted us with a BBQ. The garden is very pretty and we loved having a Braai and drinks outside (covered in mozzie-repellent lol). There are only two apartments on the property (the owner's house is at the back) so the outside space feels private. We did not expect the apartment to be cleaned daily but, really appreciated it. The lounge and kitchen area is big with everything you need. A few other features: - outdoor shower for rinsing off - easy walk to and from the ferry with luggage - friendly family - nice patio - oil, salt & pepper in the kitchen - a spot to park your bicyle - drying rack outside for wet clothing Thank you Mera for welcoming us!

Not a complaint, just a tip for future travelers. In December the whole of the Seychelles has a lot of Mozzies, not location specific. Ensure you pack enough insect repellent as the repellent at the stores are very expensive. Everything was amazing! ;)

Amazing accommodation, so beautiful and clean, in a quiet setting with much greenery around. Mera, the host, was so kind and friendly, she helped us with everything we asked and the communication was perfect before and during our stay. The small terrace is soo beautifully decorated and it was the perfect place to have breakfast and dinner every day! Kitchen is fully equipped with everything one might need for cooking, the bathroom is very spacious, room was cleaned every day. There is a shop nearby, bikes can be rented from the property and they also offer a place to shower and change after check out if guests want to spend time at the beach. Was a lovely place and we will return here for sure if we’re back on the island.

From the communication before our arrival to ensuring we had a taxi from the harbour, to arriving to find water and a fully stocked applianced kitchen, this apartment was wonderful!! Mera is absolutely amazing, she made sure we were comfortable the entire stay. The apartment was so clean and had little amenities such as soap, beach towels, a safe, an iron and bikes for rent, which are essential in La Digue. The kitchen has everything; toaster, microwave, kettle, water dispenser, oven, stove, fridge freezer, grill, plates and cutlery, and even food storage containers. The location is perfect, 5 minute walk from the town where you'll find the harbour, shops, exchange, pharmacy and many restaurants. Mera is a lovely host with a fabulously decorated apartment and she helped us book our ferry tickets to go back to Praslin and we will definitely be coming again to Chez Mera when we visit La Digue again.
