About this cottage rental
Welcome to our waterfront cottage, The Mermaid of Lorain, one of the Pelee Island’s Finest Homes, a two-story building on the very finest sand swim beach in a Cul-De-Sac! It has 3 bedrooms with Queen’s size beds in each room plus 1 pull out bed, which can accommodate up to 8 people. One bedroom (The Cleodora) is located on the main floor while the other 2 (The Nixie and The Ocarina)are located on the second floor. All the rooms and the living room have full lake views.
The flooring is made of carpet over wood, ceramic and laminate. It has a full kitchen with a stove, a microwave, oven, a refrigerator, dishes, glasses, utensils, and a dishwasher. We have a washer and a dryer for the clothes. It has 2 full baths, one on each floor. Bed linens, towels, and cleaning supplies are provided.
The finely decorated white wooden stair railings plus carpets on the stairs to the second floor are added safety features for the children and the elderly.
You'll also find an assortment of coffee makers, dining table, breakfast table and an outdoor gas BBQ grill. There is a large back deck for outdoor sitting. Fine decorated, bright and naturally lit interior features many artworks. The Mermaid of Lorain, Pelee Island’s Finest cottage is a relaxing and peaceful home. It has indoor entertainment with high speed satellite internet, satellite TV, VCR, CD/DVD player, a large collection of CDs and DVDs, a radio, books, and games for all age groups. There is a Playpen for younger children. Heating Base Boards, Fans, and Window Air Conditioners are available. There are plenty of beach chairs and a picnic table. Pelee Island's finest sand swim beach is at your front door. Lake Erie is quite shallow near our beach.

Lovely cottage and pelee island is so charming!

There is no outdoor shower. The caretaker was very friendly and helped us get another 5 gallon bottle of water when the coop didn't have any. She also brought over candles when the power went out after a storm on the mainland. Even though Beautiful views from the deck. We had some issues with ants. Overall though we had a great relaxing time.

Cottage was very nice, great location.
Inside, lots of spiders and ants had to buy spray for inside. Outside, the manager had not swept or cleaned up the deck. Had to sweep up massive webs of dead bugs and spiders from the windows and patio doors before going out to sit. Could not log onto internet as I think the password was incorrect...TV could only get one channel.
Manager was on Mainland and when she did get back she had no idea how to help. She is super nice but unfortunately not too helpful
The location is beautiful, the views from the deck are beautiful
Despite all of the issues I would recommend this cottage. Just take lots of raid and bug spray
