About this cottage rental
Located on Leroy Island (accessible by vehicle), 'Quiet Waters' was chosen as the name for this charming cottage found in a protected portion of Great Sodus Bay. Swans often nest across the water in the wildlife preserve; wildlife abounds. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation on the bay and enjoy water sports and sunsets, you need look no further!
Sodus Bay is known for spectacular water activities: excellent fishing and boating of all types. 'Quiet Waters' is conveniently located within minutes of several waterfront restaurants and two marinas, one with boat rentals and bait. You can also go by boat to Sodus Point or take the channel into Lake Ontario. Sodus Point features a sandy beach on the lakefront, two lighthouses and maritime museum, charter fishing, dining, and shopping.
Visit Niagara Falls, Watkins Glen Gorge and Speedway, Letchworth State Park, the spectacular Chimney Bluffs or one of the many area wineries and orchards. If racing or gambling are a part of your vacation plans, there are five nearby casinos and several stock car, speedway, and horse racing tracks to choose from. Enjoy a cruise on the barge canal or go antiquing! Bass Pro is only 45 minutes away!
Or you may choose to just relax quietly at your vacation rental. Sunrise coffee on the deck, morning fishing from the dock, afternoon siestas in the sunroom and/or boat rides with the kids, evening cocktails back on the deck; if these appeal to you, then the allergy-free cottage (sorry no pets and no smoking), 'Quiet Waters' is for you!

Perfect for cozy family fishing retreat. Updates since our last visit were all great. We love playing board games at night and working on the puzzles provided by the host. My son loved the futon with the view of the sunrise over the lake.

The property is in a great location. This is a family island since 1955. Communication from the owner is good. Direction's for the house are also good. If you have a smaller group (four or so) I would recommend it. It is very tight for six or more, however--unless you have small kids.
When we arrived it was clear that others had been there before us and it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. My wife spent three hours cleaning floors, getting sand out of the beds and wiping surfaces down. The trash bins were completely full when we arrived. The dock had collapsed so we had no water access ( others on VRBO had mentioned this as early as May but we weren't informed until the day we arrived via a VRBO notice from the owners).
