VILLA OPERA HILLS is an outstanding destination for those seeking at the comforts of a home, amid the wild, natural beauty of Costa Rica!
Location:
The villa is located just 1.5 km (1 mile) from Playa Hermosa (Hermosa Beach).
In a safe and quiet neighborhood, surrounded by nature.
Located on the Central Pacific coastline, Playa Hermosa is just ten minutes south of Jaco Beach (Playa Jacó).
Villa Opera Hills is only 1 ½ hours from Juan Santa Maria International Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica.
If you are planning to drive from the airport, the new highway will take you on an enjoyable trip with amazing views of the mountains and down to the beach. We will provide you all the directions to get to your destination. If you prefer to have someone pick-you up from the airport, just let us know! We can book one of the local private vans for you.
Attractions and activities:
Playa Hermosa is one of the most famous surfing beaches in Costa Rica, producing a world class wave.
In Playa Hermosa you can find a few small restaurants and a couple mini markets. We recommend VIDA Hermosa restaurant. They have the best refreshing smoothies, and a variety of delicious meals you can enjoy while you look at the ocean!
In Jaco (15 min North) you can find pretty much everything you need. There is grocery stores, banks, Clinics, Spas, beauty salons, pharmacies, many restaurants to choose from (we recommend sushi at Tsunami, or at Arigato), casinos, juice bars, mail office, Gyms, Bakeries, souvenir shops… etc…
Or just stay at home and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee on your private terrace, as you watch the parrots, the toucans and the macaws flying overhead. Or maybe go for a walk, or even for a swim at the waterfall just a few minutes away on the property. You might even see the white face monkeys jumping from tree to tree!
If you are looking for activities, to do during your stay at the Villa. We can provide you all the information you need.
We definitely recommend having a vehicle, although it is not strictly necessary. There are many places to visit and all kind of activities to do just a short drive away from Villas Opera Hills. These are just a few examples:

* Crocodile tour
* Mangrove monkey boat tour
* Kayak tour

First time in Costa Rica, really enjoyed our stay here. It's hot. Yes, there's no A/C in the main living quarters but we found it better to help us acclimate. There's A/C in the bedrooms that we kept on while sleeping. As long as you stay hydrated, you'll be fine. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. The stovetop is simple but adequate. The tile, concrete, and wood aesthetic are clean and simple with a local vibe.The pool was gorgeous. Cleanest pool I've ever been in. No detectable chlorine smell. No floaters. No other people. Felt warm but nice. We swam at night and a couple times during the day between excursions. Outdoor showers to rinse off. Super private, surrounded by lush tropical foliage. We had the place to ourselves. Lots of iguanas and some macaws. No ants; we kept all food in the fridge as instructed.The grounds felt secure; there's an entry gate and security cameras everywhere.The owners responded to all of our inquiries quickly. They offered great suggestions for activities; our favorite was Rainmaker Park. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there were maybe 10 other tourists there. We also visited Manuel Antonio and did a Tortuga Island Catamaran trip. The driving takes some getting used to. I do not recommend driving at night; the fresh paved roads are not marked. We rented a manual transmission from Adobe and it worked well. No need for a 4x4. We loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay. Pura Vida!

The property was lovely, really enjoyed the pool and having real hot water in the showers! Everything we needed for our week long stay way there. The AC in the bedrooms was so important as it was very very hot while we were visiting and without the cool bedrooms to retreat to we would have been quite uncomfortable. Really enjoyed seeing the Macaws every evening and iguanas throughout the property. Waterfall walk was a plus and even spotted some capuchins there.

Great location, close enough to Hermosa beach but far enough from the busy main street. Tidy clean and comfortable villa with a nice clean pool, Air conditioning, WiFi, fully equiped kitchen. Close by restaurants and activities of all sorts.Will definitely recommend this place to anyone and we will be coming back for sure.
