wonderful stay

It was a wonderful stay at Margarita's. We only had one full day in Athens, but we could see the archeological museum nearby and Acropli easily from there. The owner was very nice to help us a way to charge my phone, also room was very well decorated and all the facilities were useful! I didn't see the front sign when I checked on Google map street view, but it's very easy to find.

A clean, comfortable studio with a helpful host and great location — perfect for a short stay in Athens.

The communication with the host was excellent — he provided clear instructions on how to enter the building and kindly allowed us to check in early. The studio was clean and comfortable, in a good location close to the metro, and overall offered great value for the money. The host also arranged a taxi to the airport, which was very helpful.

The elevator stopped working for one day, which made it difficult to carry our luggage downstairs on the day of departure.

Superb accommodation

Apartment 601 was super clean, very spacious rooms, and a huge bed and fabulous shower. Everything looked brand new. The covered patio was screened and private - great for al fresco meals, even when it rained. Host offered luggage storage on our departure day, which we didn't need, but it was a nice gesture. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The neighbourhood streets are pretty grubby, with lots of graffiti and rubbish - as were most of the streets we walked around in Athens, but the comfort of the apartment more than made up for that.

Not a comfortable stay for a family.

I didn’t like much, I know they are trying very hard, but it’s just an old building in a very bad location.

The rooms were a good size and clean.

From the outside I wondered what I had booked. with everything around the area was all boarded up. Graffiti, homeless people up the street and police were all around. The location not that safe for female solo travellers.

Excellent value for money

Excellent place to stay. My room was huge - yes the bathroom was small but I expected that. The large room made up for it. The communication with the staff was perfect and they were even able to let me check on early on the day. The hotel is well located centrally, though as other reviews have stated the neighbourhood has a lot of homelessness - however, as a solo female traveller I never felt unsafe. This is Athens and unfortunately homelessness is high - but everyone seemed to respect each other and let everyone go about their business.

I have mentioned the small bathroom and slightly dodgy neighbourhood because of what I read in other reviews, but these honestly weren't issues for me due to the overall price / comfort / experience.

Comfortable, perfect value for price

Elevator, easy self check-in, 30 minutes walk from Acropolis, very comfortable bed and pillows (I am very sensitive on this topic), large bed, very nice and friendly owners, closeness to the bus stop of bus 051. Overall 10/10 value for the price

The AC was a bit loud as well as the shower. Consider bringing earplugs if you are sensitive on this topic (I am not and I could sleep without problems)

Excellent for a budget quick stay in Athens

We found this place to be an excellent value for money. As a flexible couple from Brazil, we didn’t mind that the apartment was not in a super touristic area (we were looking for budget accommodations in Athens). While there is a rough street nearby where some people sleep outside, alternative routes to reach the apartment avoid that area. We comfortably walked to the tourist area (where the ruins and museums are), even late at night, without any issues. Very good accommodation with a kitchen, kettle and tea bags available. Nice and clean toilet and shower. Check-in was easy and very convenient since we arrived late; we received a code via message for entry. The staff also recommended a 24-hour parking facility nearby, which I highly suggest as it is affordable—we paid just 15 euros for the night.

I could smell cigarette smoke in the room, but we are in Greece, which looks pretty normal. Some people may find the location not great (with people sleeping rough nearby) , but I found it safe.

Comfortable, welcoming and practical.

The room was lovely and clean. It had everything we needed (kitchen appliances, hair dryer, iron) and was very comfortable. The owner is lovely and wanted to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Would definitely recommend.

The apartment is about a 30 minute walk to the city centre. After 10pm the area could seem a little dodgy, but it was perfectly safe and we walked back after 12am a couple of times without any issues.

A great value and perfect location to explore Athens

The owner was on site when I arrived and was very welcoming and made sure I was able to get in my room okay. I ran into him several other times throughout my stay and he was always so kind and always asked how I was, if I needed anything and offered espresso. He made me feel very welcome during my stay. The location is very clean and an amazing value for the money. Taxis to get anywhere in the area are very affordable and the location is a quick 5-10 min taxi ride from all the main attractions. It's also very close to the metro stations if you prefer to use those. As a solo female traveler I just prefer taxi for myself. I never felt unsafe at the property. I see a lot of comments about the neighborhood but that is true in any big city and as someone who travels full time, unfortunately it is to be expected in most large cities and this property does an amazing job (better than most) of keeping the suites safe with cameras, door codes, etc. I was highly impressed and would absolutely stay here again. If you are looking to travel to Athens for an affordable price, even with taxis over walking to the metro stations, everything was affordable and amazing value - do not let the neighborhood hold you back.

Wonderful place and the best landlord

The apartments are amazing, all the comodities working perfectly. The landlord Is a gentleman always smiling and very kind. For who Is coming for the first time Is the best option, everything work very well (shower/kitchen/toilets) and you have everything (dishes, pots ,cups, cuttlery, oven, coffe machine!) Beds are very comfortable and everything Is just 10-15 min walking. Highly recomended!

Great room and awesome facilities! Bit of a dodgy area at night however, it is in the city centre.

Self check in process was easy. The room was very comfortable and modern! Great bathroom and bed! All clean and tidy. The cleaners offered us tea and coffee on check out and were super friendly.

The area it is situated in is dirty, and not somewhere I'd like to walk alone late at night.
