5-bedroom vacation home just 10 minutes from Buffalo River

We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space in living room and driveway area for our large group to gather. Kitchen was well stocked and roomy. Plenty of places for everyone to sleep.

The accomodations were perfect for our family of 11 adults and 5 young children, as we gathered from three different locations. If anything, the place is larger than it looks in the photos. Beautiful location, with easy access to the Buffalo River and hiking. Kitchen is well-stocked. Host is super-responsive - both before and during our stay. Highly recommend it!

We had 18 family members meet for a float trip on the Buffalo River. We rented the top two floors of the Lodge. It was beautiful and adequately met our needs. It was very clean and the check in process was easy. Communication was great and they answered all our questions. Very well stocked kitchen. The pull out sofa beds were futons and really could not hold two adults, but we used them for kids and one adult. The toilets are a bit low for the elderly in our group, so I might suggest installing some grab bars by the toilets and for the showers. The step up onto the front porch was also a bit tall for one of our elderly family members who was recovering from some recent health issues (they wanted to be part of the family gathering). We had renters in the lower portion of the house both nights we stayed. It was two different parties. Both of those parties were a bit confused by our presence and I had to assist them to understand they were renting the lower level and we had the rest of the house. It was fine, but more communication might be needed to let the parties know that someone else is renting a portion of the home. Overall, it is 5 stars!!

This is a very nice lodge and the ability to interact with the horses, chickens, etc is an added benefit. Owner did work with us on our last-minute rental and need to accommodate small dogs for one member of our party. For anyone considering renting this property, there are some things you need to know that aren't clearly disclosed in the VRBO posting. 1. Staff lives in the bottom floor of the lodge you are renting. This means you only have 2 floors of the 3 available to you. Pictures that show the bottom floor with a pool table are not part of the rental because it is occupied. 2. The lower floor has access to the rest of the lodge through the kitchen. 3. No smoking in the lodge but staff smoking on bottom floor/outside led to smoke pulled into the house and stunk up one end of the lodge. 4. No cable. This is clearly stated but we checked up front to see if we would be able to watch college bowl games on New Year's Day. We were told that we would have access through a streaming service, unfortunately, the internet access is Hughes Net and it was horrendous. We ended up having to stream the games through our phones. The owner did try to assist us and after several attempts to use the internet service, we got the "our posting clearly states we don't have cable" response. After checking up front that access is adequate and spending nearly $1000 for a 2-day stay, I expect a better response than that. 5. Pool table is cheap, falling apart, and located in a single car garage. 6. Hot tub broken. 7. We had to go buy some additional pans for cooking because there weren't enough supplied pans. To summarize, this is a very nice lodge that accommodated our large group, last-minute and we enjoyed it very much. There were several items that we felt were not clearly revealed in the rental listing and that's why we have included them here for future renters' knowledge.
