This lake is known for clean, clear water, spectacular swimming and fishing and boasts less boat traffic than most other NH lakes. The cottage is located a mere 20 feet from the water's edge. The swimming area is family friendly and has a stone stair entryway to the crystal-clear water with a sandy bottom. The cottage has a well-appointed kitchen, and a dining area for 6 as well as a lovely, attached deck overlooking the lake complete with a table and an umbrella for outdoor dining.
Our master bedroom a Queen bedroom set and mattress. The living room has a sleeper sofa with a flat screen TV over the stone fireplace mantle with cable. Two split phases have been installed for making the cottage warm and comfy in the spring and fall and AC on demand when it is hot!
The property features a dock for sunning in a lounger, enjoying morning coffee, or tying off a powerboat or jet ski. Bring your fishing pole and enjoy some bass fishing. Our travelers are welcome to use the owner's kayaks for paddling.
A tour of the lake is available on the owners 23-foot Mastercraft bow rider powerboat for an additional fee (one hour for $50) when the owner is available.
The cottage is very centrally located and within 25 minutes to Wolfboro, 45 minutes to the concert venue at the BankNH Pavilion & 30 minutes the Mount Major hiking.

Our host, Leslie, was very communicative and the welcome book was very clear and thorough. The proximity to the water was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed our stay.

This lake cottage was clean and everything worked as it should. The owner was pleasant and available for any questions we had. The lake view was outstanding and the dock was well built. A few days were quite warm and humid. When we did need air conditioning during the day, the mini split units work well and are quiet. Plenty of hot water available. Water pressure is lower than I am use to, but adequate for any showers, or doing dishes. All essentials you need for the kitchen are provided. Beds were ok. Let's face it.....you never sleep as good as in your own bed, but when I got up early to see sunrises I was NOT disappointed. Adequate space for a couple cars and a boat trailer if you bring one. The fishing was very good! The water quality of this lake is excellent. When we walked South Shore Drive all the neighbors were friendly. The cottage has very traditional unpainted pine walls and I have no problem with that at all. My only recommendation would be to replace 2 0r 3 bulbs in the living with "brighter" LED bulbs that would last longer, be brighter, and even save electricity. Reading or even looking at the remote for the television is difficult with dark walls and low lighting. Overall, It was a very relaxing and pleasant vacation.

My wife and I had a really enjoyable visit. Cell phone coverage wasn't great, but the internet access was sufficient to easily handle video calls with folks back home. We greatly enjoyed Lost River Gorge, Butternut Farm, and Sibley's at the Pier. The kitchen is a little on the small side, but it was a great fit for the two of us. The owner also checked in with us to make sure were aware of how to work the fireplace. Really a great experience. Can't wait to come back to Lake Merrymeeting!
