Dream Beach Villas / Villa Lotus, fantastic villa right on the white sand beach

we were a family of five and we had a wonderful time. the property was well kept with the onsite house keeping and security. Mr Ishan was always at help whenever we had any questions. location was fabulous with the private access to the ocean and our own swimming pool. the only thing we had as a issue is no air condition in the main living room although there was a fan but it really didnt do much.

My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at the villa and we would certainly recommend it. The Villa interiors are simple but very stylishly done. The Kitchen is basic however we actually chose to have most meals delivered from the sister hotel 5 minutes up the road. (international cuisine meals are limited and only average quality but local cuisine meals were well done) most meals fell into the $7-10 price range/person. Although the villa is located right on the main Galle road (rather a shock when we first arrived) this was not a problem as the villa is cleverly designed with a solid wall with only a single bathroom window towards the road . All the big windows only face towards the beach so when you sit on the covered porch on the beach side, the building blocks out any potential noise at all and you easily forget the road even exists. We had an absolutely fantastic time but if we were to be hyper-critical I would highlight the following; Cleaning staff were thorough but certainly not quick. They always seemed to be hanging around which became slightly frustrating as we wanted more privacy. In addition, the way the 2 villas are sharing a pool was extremely off putting. It was idyllic for the 2-3 days when the other villa was not occupied but, when it was, this was extremely annoying and invasive on our privacy having strangers splashing around in the pool making noise only a few metres away from you! Effectively the villa went from feeling like an exclusive 5* secluded island hide away to a 3* holiday camp over-night I would certainly not have hired the villa if the other villa was going to be fully booked during our stay. Personally I would have preferred a fence between the two villas; even at the expense of losing the pool (as we swam in the sea rather than pool ) most days anyway. We used Kumar the driver (who was fantastic and could not have been more helpful) but the cost of even small trips to local areas was extremely over-priced at $30-40 to Hikkaduwa which we only discovered on the last day when presented with the final bill.

Our family of 4 was looking for a relaxing holiday and we got that and more. The villas are exactly as they appear in the pictures. Both are beautifully appointed with high-end European appliances and fixtures. The kitchen is equipped for making your own meals (which we did) but you can also order food from a nearby resort. If grilling is of interest to you, they will happily provide you with a bbq grill. The staff is friendly and does a wonderful job of keeping the villas and the grounds impeccably clean. The beach, just steps from the villas, is nearly secluded. You will not find a lot of tourists on this stretch of beach as there are only a few houses with beach access. The pool is a perfect size for both adults and children to enjoy a dip or just cool off with a cocktail. I should also mention that you cannot hear street noise (cars, trains, buses, etc) from the villas even though they are on the main road. We loved our holiday here and will definitely stay here again in the near future.
