About this apartment rental

One of the area's most popular family oriented Beachside condos. Amenities include 270' directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Beachside restrooms, large upper level gulf front sundeck area, (also lots of shady areas to get out of the sun), picnic tables, gated complex with security guards, covered parking, two elevators, full size kitchen, stack washer and dryer. The hallways are enclosed perfect for wet weather. There are 3 large pools and one pool for small children. During the winter months, one of the outdoor pools is heated.

Freshly painted and cute as a button waiting for your family and guests. This complex is only 3 floors tall - not a high rise. We now have WiFi for your convenience.

The entire property is very outdated. The condo desperately needs to be upgraded. The remote batteries were held in place by a piece of tape. The electric outlets were falling out of the wall which is possibly a fire hazard. The shower was so small I barely could move. The water pressure was terrible. The thermostat box looked like it hasn't been upgraded since the 1970s. The bedroom with the twin beds was so small, we had to crawl over the bed to get to the closet. Our stay was not bad, but the property and condo definitely needs to be upgraded

Check in was easy. Condo was older. Electric sockets were coming out of wall and we could not use. Ice box was cool but not extremely cold. Elevator broke and had to use a further one and then it broke. My mom is 83 and can’t walk any distance and can not climb stairs. She was stuck in condo for 1 1/2 days. We had to split time staying with her so couldn’t utilize our family time. Got water did not last for everyone to bathe. Patio furniture was rusted. Springs were sticking up in one of the beds. Condo was clean with exception floors. Our feet were black. For pricing of 3 nights it definitely wasn’t worth it. Will not return.

Overall, the property is a little outdated, particularly the external area including the garage and elevator. However, the property manger was great. He responded quickly to messages and was very helpful. The shower is very small, which made showering kind of difficult. I’d have to turn the water off to lather my body, then turn it back on to rinse the body wash off. This is because the shower is so compact, and there is no room to maneuver. Other than that, my kids ages 26, 24, 12, and 1 (grand baby) had a great time. They enjoyed the pools. The beach water was full of algae, so we were only on the beach for about 20 minutes.

Love the location and options of 4 pools with direct beach access. Shower in main bathroom still does not work. Stayed in this same unit 5 years ago and the shower did not work then. We will definitely stay at this complex again however will book a different unit.

Check in smooth, beach access was good. The condo was super outdated. The beds were uncomfortable with cheap mattress. The extra pillows were old and stained. Wasn't clean. Plugs were broken. The pictures were manipulated. The so called corner view on balcony you had to lean over railing to see it. Very disappointed!

It was a great week at this condo. There’s multiple pools to enjoy, a tennis court and pavilion areas if you prefer more shade like me. The beach is just right there too. The host of the property accommodated my request to check in a few hours early - such a quick response. And just prepare to pay $30 for a parking pass CASH ONLY vs $25 of which your agreement may state.

Nice, but very small! Bathroom toilets were for small children!! Very hard for older adults to even get up from these toilets!! Needs to be upgraded with newer furniture and toilets!! Vacuum cleaner was broken, but still in the closet! Needs to be replaced! Drier vent was full of lint before our first use, very dirty above drier and refrigerator. Dish washer was still full of clean dishes! The bedroom with twin beds had a closet, but could not be used because one of the beds blocked the entry! Overall, we made it okay!! Had a great time!!

The condo is small & dated but had everything we needed. The property has three pools (1-kid pool) and is right on the beach. There was a nice snack bar down by the pools that sold frozen drinks & beer along with sandwiches & other snack food. I would definitely rent it again.

The property was clean and definitely old. The construction was loud but tolerable. Of course, the view was horrible. There is an electrical outlet in the twin bed room behind the nightstand that has no cover. Plus, one of the outlets has a prong still in it. That is a huge safety issue. The glass table wobbles so we had to put magazines under it. And I love the granite countertops and the refrigerator. Easy access to the beach and Gulf state park. Garbage disposal had an old beer bottle cap in it that was flatten. I took that out of the garbage disposal. Towels were horrible and we had one dish towel. I wish the towels were bigger and we had more dish towels.

This property was a lot different than all of the other condos we have rented over the years. We are pretty small people bit this condo was pretty cramped. Master bedroom shower is smaller than the one in my 23foot camper. There was trash under the beds in the 2nd bedroom & the whole place smelled musty with gave me a migraine for the 1st 2 days. When we used the dryer the vent seemed to be vented into the unit which also caused problems with my allergies. The beach was awesome.

My father rented two condos for our family and coincidently he and my mother owned a unit back in the 80s/90s. We were pretty appalled at the condition of the property and how much had not been done since our time there decades ago. The parking lot had cars in the exit pathways making it impossible to get out in the truck we had, which then led to a chase down of the parking attendant. The condos themselves were relatively clean (the vent covers were dirty) but very outdated. And to our dismay, one of our condos faced ongoing construction next door so that's what we saw through the double sliding glass doors. As we drove up and down the main highway we noticed that Sugar Beach Condominiums were the very worst looking ones, lacking updates and maintenance. Even the light fixture at the entrance was separated and broken. So needless to say, we will not be returning. For the money that was spent on these 2 condos, we could rent something larger and far more updated than what we experienced here. We had high hopes that Sugar Beach Condos would be all that we remembered but it definitely was not.

Property is well located, safe, beachfront, close to restaurants and 5 mins drive to supermarket . Condo is near stairwell and elevator. Condo itself is ok, floor, BR, bedrooms, and living room, are clean . Balcony and balcony chairs dirty. Washing machine, coffee maker are filthy, green soap cake around the opening of the machine, coffee maker with brown stuff all over, disgusting to use both. Kitchen cabinet dividers inside are about to fall apart, found filthy oven tray, almost black in color! Vent of AC rusted brown, dusty ! Pillows are so flat that you needed two together to decently sleep on it! Twin beds squeak everytime you move, and uncomfortable to sleep on! Undersink cabinet have different stuff, so disorganized ! Kitchen and bathroom soap has barely any to use, and bathroom tissue is almost done! This condo needed a lot of updating, repair and need to improve cleanliness , orderliness of the kitchen, kitchen utensils, replace unusable kitchen stuff, coffee maker, etc It's totally unacceptable paying that money to rent and this is what you walk into! Whoever is cleaning and managing this condo is not doing its job! Now the entire bldg also needs updating! Parking space and stairwell are dirty, clutters, beer can,, candy wrapper all over! If CDC is imposing cleanliness to prevent Covid, this place is going to fail! Hope this is a wake up call for the owner! It's not fair to keep renting a place that's substandard in terms of cleanliness and amenities! Does Vrbo has any standard in terms of cleanliness and maintenance of properties being rented? Or it's all about profit and money making and couldn't care less about customers or renters?

Our actual unit was great, our only issue was with the south elevator not working at all times, this was the closest one to our room so it was a bit annoying only having 1 elevator everyone was waiting on. There is construction happening on the lot next door which we enjoyed watching, unfortunately once completed I believe it'll block the view from the balcony. The pools are great, especially the kiddie pool, and the Snack Shack is a great place to grab an easy snack or drink (they only accept cash). Overall we would stay here again, its a great location.

We chose this place as a last minute gateway! The property manager was super sweet and very helpful! The place itself was very clean and organized however the complex was really run down there was a lot of noise at night! Overall it was a fun getaway!

This is my favorite place to stay. It's only four stories (I don't like the high rise Condos. I like the Sugar Shack ( easy access to snacks and drinks)! I like the pools in different locations! Also, the staff have always made us feel right at Home. I give it a 10!And we will be back !! Would like to have the names of the owners of the 2bedroom/2bath condos that are beachfront!

Solely speaking of the condo, it felt like prison. The main bed was old, hard as a rock with a squeaky metal bed frame. The condo was small and cramped for six people. I had to sleep in a chair because the bed was so bad. We left a day early because the accommodations were so hard on us that we were all complaining instead of enjoying our vacation. I first emailed the owner. A day later still no response. So, I messaged through VRBO and informed her we were out a day early and why. Her response, they replaced the bed last year and no one else complained this summer. Basically saying "oh well, sorry about your bad luck". Here's the deal, if she replaced the bed last year either she paid someone to do it and got ripped off or she has extremely poor taste. She could at least refunded the night we didn't stay. Overall, if you like small places and hard beds as if you were in prison, and not getting a good night's sleep doesn't bother you, then this is a great place to stay. But if you are a parent with 4 kids and your vacation is more like work and sleep is important to you, I advise you ask if they replaced that bed yet...maybe even ask for a picture of the brand.
