Rodanthe By The Sea / Lux. Ocean Front Condo

This condo was simply amazing. It had everything and more that we needed for our trip. The view was spectacular. The communications with the owner quick and responsive the sunrise over the ocean who was breath-taking and the sunset off the front deck on very comfortable chairs was amazing. If you decide you are coming. Everything is really there. The only thing you need to bring is food and your clothes.

The condo was luxurious, extremely clean and very well equipped. The kitchen had any accessory and utensil that you could possibly need. There were also board games, dvd's and books galore. The resort was extremely quiet and relaxed. We never noticed any noise from the adjoining units. The view from the Master bedroom and the deck was phenomenal! The beach and the pool were both very easy to access. Because the weather was less than ideal (extreme wind and undertow) we were able to access the beach area on the sound side which was perfect for the younger children to play. I would highy recommend Rodanthe by the Sea and host Kathy!

The property was very clean, fully stocked with anything you could need to cook meals and location was great for our family of four. Owner was quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!

Positives: The condo was one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. It was very clean, and the balcony and view were amazing. It was very well furnished with games, movies, kitchen supplies, washer, dryer, and TVs in just about every room! The wifi was easy to access. Negatives: We were heading to the condo the week after Hurricane Dorian hit, and we were horrified to learn that, if the condo had been unavailable due to damage or road issues, we would not have received our money back because we didn't buy insurance. I've used VRBO a lot, and I've always understood that the insurance was to be used if the CUSTOMER had to cancel -- not if the condo was unusable. Although Kathy responded very quickly to all of my inquiries, the answers were short and incomplete. We had absolutely no idea what to expect when we got there. Having never been to the OBX, it was frightening to drive between sand dunes and through water on the road late at night and to be unsure about what the condo would look like when we arrived. Thankfully, it was in great condition. However, just 40 miles south of the condo, the roads were underwater and all cars had been totaled so we really weren't overreacting with our concern. In addition, there could have been more supplies such as toilet paper (3 rolls), soap (1 bar to be shared between two bathrooms), one hand soap (same sharing issue). I kept asking Kathy about a contract or information about check out times, what to leave the thermostat on, typical stuff that you normally receive BEFORE you check in, and she never sent anything except the access code and address. Once we got in the condo, there was a sheet on the refrigerator which contained the info. It would have been nice if she would have just told us that before we drove over 1,000 miles to her condo. By the way, this was just a getaway for two female friends -- husbands left at home, so it was a little scarier coming in around 10 pm, and discovering that the access code didn't work and we couldn't get into the condo. Kathy quickly resolved that by sending her friend up with new batteries. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The condo is very beautiful and well maintained. We felt very safe throughout our stay, and loved our first experience in the OBX. I just hope that Kathy communicates some things a little better. In particular, she needs to make it clear that customers will not be reimbursed if the condo is unavailable (must buy insurance).
