About this house rental
This 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom Hill Country vacation home rests on 12 secluded acres and is perfect for large groups. Our stone and cedar retreat with Saltillo tiles and pecan floors is centrally located in the heart of wine country, breweries, wedding venues, live music, dive bars, shopping and even a world renowned BBQ restaurant. Centrally located, we are 12 miles from historic Wimberley, 13 miles from Dripping Springs, 11 miles from I-35 (at Kyle, TX exit) and 29 miles from Austin.
Rancho Escondido’s spacious family room, 2 dining rooms, modern kitchen, central courtyard, private nooks and game room accommodate guests for meals, relaxation, or recreation. Plenty of outdoor space for walks, cookouts, swimming or fire pit conversations and wine sipping.
Check out the cool game room with just about everything you can think of including a pool table, shuffleboard, flat screen TV with surround sound and DVD player as well as a wet bar with ice maker to create your own private club. The game room is accented with wood walls, pressed tin ceilings, stained glass, neon signs and inlaid ceiling repurposed from an old wall from a turn of the century saloon. If you get hungry while watching a movie, heat up a pizza in the pizza oven or pop some popcorn in the microwave.
Don’t miss the Hays City Store only one mile away with excellent comfort food, full bar and live music. The best fried shrimp ever!
CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES: Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 10:00 am. Luggage storage is unavailable while the home is being prepared for your arrival. We recommend making travel plans accordingly.
SELF CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS: All reservations will be required to sign a rental agreement and provide Hills of Texas Lodging with a valid credit card to be placed on file for their stay. In lieu of charging a damage deposit or non-refundable damage waiver, a temporary hold of $350 will be placed on a credit card upon arrival for incidentals (just like they do at hotels). We are basically just verifying with your financial institution that sufficient funds are available in the event they were needed to cover property damage(s). If there are no property damages, the card will not be charged.
AGE REQUIREMENT: Everyone participating in the reservation must be over age 25 or if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
MAX OCCUPANCY: The maximum capacity for this home is 12 guests (including children). No visitors or day guests are allowed. Only the guests registered in this reservation are allowed onsite. If it is discovered that guests are over occupying the property, it will result in eviction.
PET POLICY: Pets are not allowed at this property under any circumstance.

We enjoyed our stay. The pool, hot tub, outdoor area are great. The house is surrounded by nature. But, it is in need of care. Two of the bedrooms are tiny. The master is huge. Bathrooms need repairs and cleaning. The kitchen needs repair and cleaning. And a thorough organizing to get rid of old stuff and take inventory. The Gameroom was a favorite of the boys. But, needs repair and getting rid of things that don’t
work. The ice maker did not make ice while we were there. And, the refrigerator does not have an ice maker. Even though we enjoyed ourselves, we had to call for utensils and dishwasher soap. The owner lives next door and responded to our needs. This property needs some TLC.

The family appreciated all the fun things to do on the property. We swam, played in the game room and enjoyed gathering in the living area.

Pool was dirty and had algae buildup. We spent some time scrubbing the pool prior to use. I have a pool at home so i know what to do and how it should be cared for.
Also, garbage cans were completely full. Not sure when trash service is/was for the site but i feel each guest should start off their stay with the ability to put waste into containers.
