About this house rental

Aprox. 3300' beautiful home great for swimming, boating and other type of water activities. Perfect for rewarding your employees w/a waterfront retreat or just a peaceful gathering w/friends & family.

Wide river area for swimming & a large deck provides many areas for private sun bathing & relaxation.

2 king , 2 queen, 2 full, 2 twin size beds plus 2 futons one in the master bedroom and one in the loft upstairs, 2 portable cribs in the master walking closet. Master bathroom w/jacuzzi & walking closet.

Pool table, chess board table, 2 bars, a big family room, fireplace, 3 TVs, Netflix in 2 tv's, wireless internet, a DVD player, sound system with Bluetooth, workstation with a printer connected to wifi, books, movies, and games. Outdoor furniture includes a dining set for 6 with an umbrella, 6 lounge chairs, fire pit with a set of four patio chairs, 2 hammocks, 6 stack chairs, a portable icebox and a grill.

We have 5 kayaks, 4 paddle boards for guests to use, also 17 life jackets of different sizes.
Located Approx 1 hr. To San Francisco & Napa wineries, there is also a winery in Byron within 3 miles of the house.

The space

You can enjoy the following activities in this beautiful area:
sailing, golf, swimming, water skiing, and boating. Also fishing right from the deck. You can also choose to go to wine country or San Francisco in just an hour drive from the house or go hiking to Mount Diablo.

Very spacious home that has room to spare for a large family. Large modern deck with shade and space to dock multiple boats. Home comes with many paddle boards and kayaks that are available for renters to use. House and furnishings are showing their age and upper floor bedroom and bunk room can be warm at night.

Good for a guys group. Best thing about the place is the outdoor deck and the boat slip. The place is tucked way in the back of the bay, however, and it takes about 15-20 min to get out to fast water. We also had a major problem with the kitchen plumbing. Water would not drain so had to use the laundry room to wash dishes.

This place was great for accommodating our large family for 4 nights. We enjoyed the pool table, bbq, fire table, and made use of two kayaks. If you plan on swimming you will have to go elsewhere as there is lots of seaweed.

Though some features were surprising (shelves removed from the fridge, kitchen sink tap missing the switch to easily change it from pot filler to spray), the building is spacious, comfortable, and built for lots of different socializing spaces. We used 5 different locations/tables for different conversations, over the weekend, and each had strengths.

Excellent location, huge place. Would have been 5 star except for fact that hvac couldn't keep up with the heat. Most of beds are 2nd story, and had a hard time getting temp below high 70s and low 80s. Also in need of some minor repairs to primary door to patio and dock. Kitchen was great for cooking for a crowd. Huge selection of water toys, and beautiful dock that easily fit three boats. All in all, an excellent value.

We had a nice reunion and loved the location. There was plenty of room for many people to sleep comfortably, and the water toys and life jackets were excellent additions. Some of the kayaks/paddleboards are missing parts, so they can take on water and start to sink. Check before using them, just in case they aren't fixed. Make sure to wear your life jacket. We had to stop at a random dock to turn our paddleboard over to empty the water—we wouldn't have made it back otherwise. We were there during the heat dome, but most of the house stayed nice and cool with the A/C. However, the upstairs room with bunkbeds doesn't cool very well and doesn't have a ceiling fan. Some standing fans would be lovely. The kitchen was fully stocked but could use a deep cleaning. Also, the shower drain in the upstairs bedroom is slow to drain - water pooled over your feet during showers. Also, the pool cues have no tips. Overall, it is an excellent house for a large group. We had a great time, and the owners were flexible and accommodating.

The house was nice and we enjoyed our stay but for the price point, we were a bit disappointed. This group of women have been meeting for over 25 years and we have stayed in a lot of places! The layout was nice and open, the furniture and the (most) beds were comfortable. Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck. Issues were: Room with lots of beds (sleeps 8) gets minimal AC. Kitchen is very haphazard - labels would help. We spent a lot of time opening and closing drawers to find stuff. Older cooktop and pans were hard to cook in. Pool cues had little or no tips. Propane for fire pit went out first night and were told we needed to provide out own propane. No beach towels were provided and we were brought 4 towels for 10 people. The two paddle boards we brought down did not work. one was missing a rudder and other was soaking up with water. There were 2 others we did not bring down that might have been better. (kayaks were great!) Since we were all adults having some glass wine glasses would have been nice... Based on pictures and price we were expecting a bit more luxury.

We enjoyed our three night stay at the home. We found the location perfect for accessing the golf courses; Relaxing on the deck after our golf outing was a perfect ending to the day. We did find that the home may need some tender loving upkeep. There was a BIG blemish on the refrigerator. The stove appears to need a good cleaning. The ice maker chose not to work, but the property owner was very accommodating in providing ice. Thanks for making our annual outing fun.

This home has so much to offer, 2 bedrooms downstairs, 2 upstairs with loft pool table. All the water toys made our stay so much fun for all, they have a fabulous deck to enjoy those in the water. Plenty of parking. Very quiet area. We enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning and cocktails in the evening. I would highly recommend this House. Property management saw always quick to respond to our questions. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy our vacation

This home is in a excellent location, right on calm water, very peaceful. Nice large deck. Lots of water toys. The owner was gracious to allow us an early check-in. Unfortunately due to bad traffic, we were not able to take full advantage of too early of a check-in. The house has maintenance/ repair issues that need to be addressed. The AC unit is older and was not working upon arrival. We kept trying to get it working, then had to contact the owner at 4:20 pm. She contacted a repair person, who came out at 7am next morning (timing was not the owner’s fault). Unfortunately it was 90 degrees inside, and the master bedroom doors were locked (no key available, thus no means to open for venting the room in the evening. Plus this is a fire code violation). Master bath window would not open either. Also, the sliding door from living room to deck was extremely difficult to open & close (as was mentioned in a prior review). Additionally, the house was not overly clean. Floors quite dirty. Some dishes / silverware had food stuck on, so we had to clean them before use. The refrigerator had cracks on plastic drawers & bins, and refridge also had a small leak. Ice maker did not work. Toilet paper holder in Master bath came out of wall, and towel rack was nearly out of wall. Staircase banister was extremely loose, small game table in loft was very wobbly. Pocket door in upstairs bath is broken, affecting privacy. Latch on gate leading down to dock was broken (a concern if you have children). It is not our intention to attack, but want to make these issues are known, in hopes that they will be addressed for future renters. We are a group of mature-aged women, who treat the homes we rent with complete respect, and always leave them clean. I personally rent regular basis, and have always received positive reviews as a renter.

This property was in a great location. The deck was perfect for relaxing and enjoying time with family. Plenty of space in the house for all Of us and the young adults in our group really enjoyed the pool Table. This was a last minute change to our plans because the property we had rented was not clean and ready for our arrival. Lucia went out of the way to work with his and accommodate our group in the middle of the chaos that was happening with the other place. We highly recommend this property and would come back again.

Nice big property with a garage full of paddle boards and kayaks to use. A few sliding doors weren't working but the owner let us know ahead of time. Some updates could be done to the place (and a bit of cobweb removal) but overall a pleasant stay and what we expected.

Overall the trip was beautiful and the area is super nice. Some property issues of maintenance things that can be fixed and updated. back fence latch, cleaning behind couches, organizing all cabinets and drawers, accessibility of opening doors for possible3 fire escapes and fresh air. TV better directions for using if working. The house is big and nice and great access to the water right in backyard. We hope to come back!

Had a wonderful stay in Disco Bay! There were 11 of us in our group but the house never felt crowded; very spacious and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. The views were fantastic and even more-so at night while we were sitting around the fire pit outside. Parking was never a problem with all the available space. Convenient food stores nearby for all the necessities also. The neighborhood was surprisingly quite day or night; overall, we had a great time - I wish we could have spent another few weeks there!

We held our large family gathering here. We had 16 people (9 adults and 7 kids). It was snug but we all had a wonderful time. Owner was very quick to respond to our various questions. The house is old but mostly remodeled. Kitchen utensils and pots were plentiful but quiet old. Mattress and pillows were old and unfortable. Did not have enough clean towel and sheets for the number of guests. Unfortunately some of the "extras" on the listing didn't live up to expectations. The kayaks only included 1 real paddle, and the rest were parts of pieces of paddles.

Property felt neglected. Empty cupboards were littered with scraps of things. Mold on upstairs bedroom ceiling. Sticky kitchen floor. No washcloths. "One" kitchen towel found in one of the bathrooms. Very nice firepit was not working after we had to change out empty propane tank. Broken towel holder laid on bathroom vanity. The home is nice but had an abandoned feel. I should have read the other reviews prior to stay, as others felt much the same as I.

Our stay was amazing, the water was warmer than we all had anticipated so we were in it all day long. The kitchen and living areas were large, we got great use of the pool table, the bedroom situation for 14 adults was a little tight, we had 6 sets of couples. The downstairs bedroom with the queen size bed was the squeakiest bed! We had a hard time sleeping on it, anytime you moved it would squeak ferociously! All other beds were fine according to the other guests. There were two people who opted to sleep outside in the hammock and the lounge chairs under the stars. What a beautiful location! We also enjoyed visiting the Campos Family Winery on Friday night for their weekly "Winedown Friday" (you need to buy your $5 admission ticket ahead of time.) They had wine, beer, food trucks, and live music. It was only an 8 minute drive from the house to this spot! The one downside was the ant invasion. The first day I saw a couple wondering around in the kitchen cabinet and on the counter, on the side of the kitchen that backs to the bar on the other side of the wall. The next morning we woke up to so many ants all inside of our Costco bakery bagels (unopened but the ants could fit their way in somehow.) We let our contact at the house know, she was very proactive and responsive! She sent over someone to spray for the ants and offered to reimburse us for the food, but we had already gone through the bagels and thrown out what we couldn't save and dusted the ants off what we could save. We fought them back but they returned immediately every time. Even after the man came to spray, they were still a nuisance. They were only in the kitchen and on the deck at least, the rest of the house seemed ant free. I would recommend this house still! The ant problem and the squeaky bed were tiny problems in the scope of things! The house is great and I would stay again!

This property has plenty of room for a big family and has a great set up for socializing! A nice roomy kitchen for making meals, large family and dining rooms, and a fabulous deck, great for early morning coffee and enjoying a beautiful sunrise after dinner. We enjoyed using the kayaks on the canals. The score on cleaning was due to the way we found the house on checkin (The house was cleaned after the previous guests, but they missed several things.), but the host promptly got the cleaning service back in to address the issues. A few things were broken, but these were also promptly addressed by the host. I can’t thank Lucia and Monte enough for their kindness and responsiveness. We truly enjoyed our visit.

I booked this house for my husband's birthday to stay in with family. We were really excited and when we showed up at 4 p.m. (check-in time) the house was filthy, nothing had been cleaned, the deck was a mess and all the beds were unmade with the sheets on the ground. We bought cleaning supplies and started cleaning while we waited for the host to call us. She had us stop cleaning and was sending the cleaning company over. She explained that it was her mistake and she thought we were coming in the next day (but said after checking the calendar it was her fault and she misread it). They finished cleaning about 6:30 p.m. (which they told us they could have cleaned it earlier that day if the owner would have let them know) and the owner showed up. She apologized and said she would drop off a check the next day refunding us a nights stay for the inconvenience and stress and the cleaning supplies. We never heard from her and she tried to blame it on the cleaning company. She lied again when I contacted her and said VRBO was going to refund me, but VRBO said they already paid her the money and it was between us. She continued to lie and still no refund almost a month after. The house was decent, but a/c did not work which made it miserable at night trying to sleep. There were no screens on the windows to air out the house at night either. The deck outside was the nicest part of the house, which we did enjoy. There were ants in the kitchen cabinets and in the living room that we had to deal with as well. The pictures were a little deceiving and the house could definitely use upgrades. I'm not one to complain, but the house not being ready and then being lied to made for a bad experience.

This house could be so nice with a good cleaning and some much needed TLC! There were many things that seem to be overlooked by whoever does the cleaning and maintenance of the house. The floors were very dirty because walking across the floor after showering your feet turn black from the dirt. The window sills were full of bugs and cobwebs. Ants would be on the counter, inside the dishwasher and in the sink each morning. Food was not left out and dishes were not left in the sink. There were also some ants in the upstairs bed. Each shower should have a bath mat for safety. They were very slippery due to the soft water. There were no wash clothes so we bought our own to use. There were plenty of towels but some were dirty. Lots of mismatched dishes and silverware. The comforters and blankets were old, dirty and too heavy for the summer temperatures. One big problem is the smoke alarm was beeping the first night we arrived in the upstairs bedroom with the 5 beds. We couldn’t find it as it was not on the ceiling. It was in the bottom drawer of the chest. Not safe! The battery needed to be replaced and it was still in the detector. The sliding door to the deck is off the track and doesn’t open and close well. This should be fixed. The trash compactor is very dirty, needs a good cleaning. We pulled it out to empty the trash and it wouldn’t go back in. The deck needs a good washing to get rid of the cobwebs and dirt. There were chairs that are broken but still out for use around the table outside. The garage needs cleaning too. The decorations are very outdated and need cleaning. We enjoyed the room for our large group of 9 adults but the overall cleanliness was very disappointing. We will not recommend this house until we know that the amount have all been addressed.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The deck was our favorite and spent many hours there watching the ducks and geese in the early hours and enjoying the sunsets in the evenings. My son brought his boat and docking it at the house was very convenient. It is approximately 20 min to the fast water. There are kayaks and paddle boards available though we did not use them on this trip. The property owner responded promptly to my questions. The floor plan of the home was a good fit for our family of 9. Thank you for a nice and relaxing place to stay.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay. We stayed here for our wedding and our wedding party and family slept there. Only thing is most things are outdated and the a few of the bunk beds were damaged. However, I was able to communicate flawlessly with the owner. My friends enjoyed the canoes and kayaks.Overall good place to stay if you ever come by in the east Contra Costa area. 5/5
