Great All Season Log House in Alpine,WY

This was a great “Cabin in the woods!” It has a very warm and cozy feeling. It’s very quiet, with an amazing view of the mountain from the balcony. Shawn was very prompt is answering any question and even called to make sure we made it in OK. It’s about a 45min drive to Jackson Hole through the pass, along the Snake River. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking utensils you need and the washer and dryer came in very handy!! The only downside for us was, this cabin does not have an AC and makes no mention of it in the write up. Being from Texas, we’d almost die without it. The cabin does stay cooler than expected, but at night, even with the windows open, there is no air flow because there are no fans in the bedrooms, except for the one upstairs in the loft that makes a constant whining noise. We bought one from the local hardware store. Keeping a box fan in each bedroom closet would be a good idea during the summer months. Having said all that, we would definitely consider staying here again, as it is very clean with great charm and quiet surroundings.

The cabin is very nice and turns out to be very much like the representation and photos that appear online. It has an excellent kitchen and a wonderful wrap-around deck with a second floor balcony. Very nice. The interior woodwork is notable (walls, ceiling & floors), and the kitchen is beautiful. The kitchen has all the needed furnishings and fittings for cooking a full meal. The dining/eating area was more than big enough for 7 people. The living area has changed a bit from the pics found online, and there is a large-screen TV to the left of the fireplace. Some of the chairs/finishings seem a little run-down - but nothing major. Lighting is good. The upstairs loft area is nice, but the steps/staircase up to this second floor are very steep. Kids had trouble with it, and that made us a bit nervous. Overall, this is one of the better places we have rented.

The ambience of the log home was very nice. Lighting is pretty, but hard to see in kitchen even when at capacity. Beds were not very comfortable and the light above bathtub was burned out. Could use more amenities. It was a pretty setting and private. It was a long drive to Jackson Hole and Grand Tetons, but we were aware before booking. It is a scenic drive.
