The Cabin in the Pines is a new easy to get to Lake Lure mountain view log home that boasts cabin décor and master bedroom on first level. You can warm up next to the fireplace, enjoy a movie, game or good book. You will enjoy the close proximity of Ingles grocery store (2 miles), Chimney Rock and Lake Lure beach (3 miles), a public golf course (1 mile), a public library where you can find a good book for yourself and the kids (walking distance) and a private lake (Mirror Lake) with beach and covered picnic area (2 blocks). This is our second time staying here. The cabin is a great size, well stocked, cute decor, and a great wraparound porch. Access to Mirror Lake to swim and short distance to grocery store, restaurants and hiking are all awesome. The owner was responsive and accommodating. We hope to go back again in the future!

We loved this cabin last summer and stayed here again just this past week. We love the access to the Broad River — the swimming hole and the nature walk with taps to play in. We also had a great time on the beach + in the water at Mirror Lake. It’s a great community and we had a great time, the hammocks on the wrap around porch are always a hit with our kids. There was a minor plumbing issue before we arrived, the owner let us know already of time and the issue was solved before we checked in. Each time we needed anything, he was very quick to respond to our texts. We highly recommend this cabin! It’s in a perfect location to do so many activities.

Our little family of four had a perfect relaxing getaway here. It was a great vacation before we add a new baby to the family. The house was clean, matched perfectly to the description, perfect for kids because there was a bed bumper there and outlet plugs all over already and some toys and games! Plenty of room for the boys to play all over inside and outside. The free access to the resort was key. We used that access like crazy!!!! The house was centrally located between resort and ingles. House was stocked for cooking and eating. Shawn was super awesome at communication and getting everything set up for us beforehand! We will definitely be back again! This was such a gem spot for us, we had never been to the area before. There’s no Wi-Fi as it states (which we saw ahead of time) but Directv worked great for us!!! There’s even a little kids loft area up top that we didn’t realize was there until we got there. Perfect spot for older kids. Highly recommend! Oh and the grill was great too!

My family of four stayed at this gorgeous cabin for three nights for a much needed getaway. It did not disappoint! It was clean, well stocked and very spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the wraparound deck with our morning coffee and in the evening for dinner. Beds were comfortable, water pressure was terrific and there was plenty of hot water. Access to Rumbling Bald was awesome and definitely made our trip 5 stars. Communication with the owner was exceptional. He provided great recommendations and all the info necessary for an easy and relaxing getaway. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips!

The cabin was very nice to the eye and clean, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of hospitality. Upon arrival, the lockbox wasn’t where it said it was going to be, so we had a moment of panic, but thankfully found it. The listing stated that the cabin was behind a library, but failed to mention their was a fire station right next to the library and a fairly busy road. We could hear traffic whenever we were out on the porch and sirens during the night, which took away from the idea that we were going to a peaceful mountain cabin. The property is also on a corner of two roads and has neighbors closely located on two sides. The master bed downstairs was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were very flat and cheap, so that also did not help with getting sleep. The shower head in the master bath ran every time you tried to use the bath and the master toilet constantly clogged if we used any toilet paper. In regards to the kitchen, there were only 5 forks, so I was constantly washing silverware and the grill barely worked. At checkout there is a list of expectations for how to leave the cabin, including removing all trash from the property and dumping it behind the public library. It would be nice if there was a trash service or this was included in the cleaning service fee. Overall, I felt like this cabin is a rental business and lacked the hospitality I expect when using VRBO.

What a wonderful weekend getaway at Lake Lure. The property rental was tastefully furnished, clean, and close to it all. Owner was great with helpful information of the surroundings. Bonus was being able to check out the resort which was included. A fun time was had by all of us. I would recommend for families and groups of friends alike. Will definitely keep in mind for a summer getaway in the future.

Our family had a great week at this cabin. It is in a great location, near Lake Lure, with access to the Rumbling Bald Resort and Riverbend nearby. The cottage was cute and clean with a great wrap around porch. The owner was very responsive to questions we had about the area and cottage. There were plenty of board games and some kids books, which we really appreciated. The few small critiques I have are that the kitchen could be better stocked. Also it was a pain that there were not beach towels or beach chairs. It would be a small thing for the owner to purchase 4-6 beach towels and 2-4 chairs to have stored in the basement for folks to use. Towels are not available at the resort and it is difficult to get chairs, as they are in high demand and run out. A hand-drawn map to the Riverbend with markers of the swimming hole, waterfall, and mirror lake would have been very helpful. This is an awesome thing that is just a couple minutes away that you get access to, but a bit tricky to figure out, so a hand-drawn map would really help. We would absolutely stay here again! It was a great spot and the owner was very kind and responsive.

We had a lovely few days at this very well maintained cabin. The owner was very responsive and helpful. They offered us access to the resort but we didn’t use it because we visited in late fall . Fireplace and tv instructions were easy to follow. Deck was charming and a lovely way to start the day. The only drawback is there was no place to put our clothes other than hanging them up and we had to take care of all the dishes, trash and stripping linens when we left. It would be great if the housekeeper could do that and if there were some drawers to put clothes in. Great location with quick access to the little town and lake. We’d stay again.

This property was fantastic and we had an amazing time. The cabin is beautiful and was exactly what we wanted in a cabin in the woods. Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice. The rooms are spacious and the living area has a huge vaulted ceiling that makes the whole thing feel even larger than it is. Everything inside is wood. The floors, walls, ceiling, everything. It is all very well kept and clean. It wasn't an issue for us, but just be aware that everything is a bit creaky, so if you are moving around at night, there is a good chance than everyone will hear it.The location was perfect for us. It was far enough away from everything that we really felt secluded and private, but we were also just a quick drive from everything we wanted to do. The cabin includes access to Rambling Bald, which was nice but we didn't really spend any time there, and RiverBend, which was right next door and we did spend some time there. There is a great little waterfall and small lake that would be a great place for a picnic.We loved our stay and would stay there again without hesitation. The owners were very responsive by text and offered a lot of information about the area including suggestions of things to do. My wife and teenage daughters didn't want to leave. Highly recommend.

The location of this cabin is great and the amenities were awesome. Loved the covered porches and the kitchen was well equipped. Only two things that could have been better; 1) there are no TV's in any of the bedrooms and 2) there were a lot of spider webs outside on the porch. Overall, great rental!

This cabin is very spacious with plenty of room to spread out inside and out. There is a basement to leave coolers, beach stuff etc so you don't have to bring upstairs each time. The cabin was very clean when we checked in and well stocked for a few days. We loved the wraparound porch and hammocks on the deck. Also a great grill outside. Kitchen was huge and so nice having a fridge with ice and water dispenser. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the saute pans- all peeling. And needs a good chopping knife. And the rooms could use some dressers. We stayed for 5 nights and didn't have anywhere to put clothes we didn't want to hang up. I'm short so the shelves over the hanger rack in closets is a bit high for me. One thing the listing didn't really mention (or I didn't notice) that was So fantastic was the nearby Riverbend community access- it was so amazing to have access to the gated community right down the street (even more so than driving over to Rumbling Bald Resort) with a wonderful little nature trail/waterfall, beach and awesome swimming hole. We spent time there almost every day. Calm water for the youngest to stand and play in and our 4 year old could float down the river a bit with his dad. He also caught a huge small mouth bass right there- was the highlight of his trip (maybe year). We enjoyed it so much that my sister has now booked a trip there in a few weeks. You don't have direct lake views but the price was great and the spaciousness of cabin and nearby river access made the trade off worth it.

Everyone loved the house! Very close to many attractions and simple to navigate and find. Just the simple smell of the all wood home was so nice. Other than a few cobwebs it was very clean and excellently stocked with kitchen supplies. (Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc.) Bathrooms and showers were very clean with great water pressure on the showers. Loved the family time we spent on the deck grilling kabobs!

We had a very nice stay. The access to rumbling bald resort was the highlight since the public beach is not open during the week at this time. You get full access to the resort amenities. The main level bedroom and full bathroom were perfect for Seniors Grandma and Grandpa. There are an outside set of stairs to get up to the main level, with hand rails on both sides so they were no problem. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and great dishes. The hammocks and rocking chairs were very nice too. The star gazing is beautiful here. Short drive to both the resort, public beach area, and grocery store. We felt the home was priced very reasonably for the size and accommodations. If we stayed within the Rumbling Bald resort it would have been double the price and half the size. Shawn was very helpful and gave us great recommendations.

We have stayed in many cabins in the Appalachian Mountains. This was the cleanest cabin. The wrap around porch was spotless. It is hard to keep bugs and spider webs cleaned off of wood, but they did it. The inside was just as spotless. We felt very comfortable in the cabin. There was plenty of room for us to be together or scattered around the cabin (4 adults and 2 kids). The 3rd flood had a small family room with a Wii station. Perfect for the kids to hang out and play. The first floor was a large air conditioned room for all our storage, which was great to keep our gear out of the rooms. There is no WiFi, which wasn’t a problem for us. We had excellent cell service throughout the cabin. Word to the wise,, be sure to have your directions available (either screen printed or in paper) when you leave the cabin. Using an app on your phone for directions won’t work due to the mountains. Renting a boat or having a private guided tour on Lake Lure is a must!! Every boat rental company was booked for three weeks out. So plan a boat rental ahead of time. We used Lake Lure Tours. Very good price. We had a private guided tour with Captain Dwayne. He was wonderful and took us to two swimming spots. One with a rope swing. The kids had a ball. We enjoyed the community’s swimming spot and Mirror lake. Such a gem a short distance away. Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls is very close. The area is so beautiful. The cabin is situated on a wood lot. Very relaxing to sit on the wrap around porch.
