About this cottage rental
Located on Lower Cullen Lake in Northern Minnesota, this property has two + bedrooms that can sleep 6+ people and was completely remodeled in 2014! We are under 3 hours from the twin cities, offering a private and quiet get away, but also close to the action—should YOU decide you want to participate! We’re 10 minutes from Brainerd international raceway, and Pirate's Cove mini golf and go carts. 5 minutes from several golf courses, 2 minutes from shopping and a walk out the front door to fish or swim!
Nisswa MN is THE destination. We are 2 miles from the center of town so you can walk, bike or drive to town! Lots of shopping, places to eat and the home of Stonehouse Coffee and Roastery! You’ll have the best cup of coffee ever with a scone they make daily—if you like coffee, you won’t leave without buying a pound of their coffee they roast on premise! Don’t miss Wednesday afternoons in town when the turtle races begin at 2:00! Didn’t catch your own turtle—not a problem, they’ll have one for you to rent, and name it “Eddie”, we’ve won many races with turtles we’ve dubbed with that name!
Romance, relaxation or family fun, this is the place for you. Many honeymoons have been celebrated here as well as 4th of July family fun—which of course, happens all summer long!
Public water access on Lower Cullen will allow you to bring your boat and park it at the private dock. Don’t own a boat? Not a problem! Dave’s Sportland in Nisswa has all types of boats and jet ski’s available for rent.
The master bedroom has a full sized bed and a bathroom attached. The guest bedroom also features a full sized bed. The backroom has a queen sized pull out couch. There is also a bunk house, that will accommodate up to three additional people. Satellite TV and wireless internet connection are available. Basketball court and putting green on property.

We had a relaxing time at this lake cottage. As seniors, we appreciated the level grounds to the sandy beach & the firewood for our nightly sunset bonfires. We enjoyed eating and sitting on the front deck with no noticeable mosquitos or horse flies! The living room had a great wall of windows overlooking the lake and sunsets.
There were families of geese and ducks living near the shore and a pair of loons on the lake. The cabin is close to Nisswa and shopping. It's a small lake so we rented a pontoon on nearby Gull Lake for a day, which was special. We didn't use the bunk house but it would have been great for kids to have their own space.
Our only negatives were that we couldn't get the gas grill started, had to buy matches to for the bonfire, and there were no basic cooking supplies, ie oil, salt, pepper and spices. Overall, nice place to stay in a beautiful part of northern Minnesota!

This property was a dream. Loved the clear lake and sandy beach. Fun times had with swimming and bonfires. The view from the deck and living room was beautiful. Great place to catch sunsets as we heard the loons. The cabin was very comfortable and clean. Well stocked kitchen. There was AC, though we didn’t need it. Would for sure rent this property again. Thanks for all the great memories!
