About this farm stay rental
Come stay in our newly renovated 1890's train station in the heart of the bluegrass.
We are on a working thoroughbred horse farm right off Paris Pike, one of the most scenic areas in all of Central Kentucky. Drive by Gainsway and Elemendorf farms on the way to Claiborne farm. 15 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park, Fasig Tipton, close to Keeneland and the Lexington area attractions.
Hutchison Station was part of the L&N railroad system between 1890-1950, it still has the original hardwood floors, 12' ceilings and much of the original molding. In its heyday it included a post office, livestock loading platform, general store and blacksmith's shop. You can read more about the station house in 'Ghost Railroads of Kentucky'. Many of the original families still live in the area.
Area activities include a 9 hole golf course within walking distance, and a short drive to many 18 hole courses, horse farm tours, historical sites including Shakertown, Mary Todd Lincoln House, Henry Clay Estate, Civil War battlefields and much more.
We have easy access to I75 & I64 and are located 1/2 way between Lexington and Paris.

Tranquil &Beautiful We loved the peaceful charm of this beautifully renovated train station.The drive to the property is amazing, lined w amazing thoroughbred horse farms & stunning stone walls the entire way. We stayed in 1of the 2 units; our windows overlooked the donkeys, delightfully vocal in greeting us. Our unit was clean, spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated w/ welcoming furnishings & artwork. The beds were also comfortable. The primary br has an ensuite bath, while the 2nd bath is located across from the 2nd bedroom. There are plenty of outlets throughout; always appreciated. Towels were fluffy, sheets felt high-end, and the kitchen was well stocked w/ cookware & an eclectic assortment of dishes and glassware. Missing only martini glasses and a shaker. The AC works well & is quiet. The stacked laundry is handy; detergent & dryer sheets provided. Watching the mares & their (very young) foals in the fields was such a treat. A few things to know:1. The refrigerator in the unit is compact (hotel-size, 3 cu. ft.) w/ a very small freezer section; too sm. to be functional. There is a full-size fridge in a room behind the unit, accessible from o/s the unit & may be shared. Steve kindly brought us ice.2. Wi-Fi is available. During our stay it was very slow 20 Mbps.3. Water pressure in kitchen is excellent; the showers had SIGNIFICANTLY lower pressure.4. We had a single hair dryer; the higher speed didn’t seem safe to use.

Clean, well stocked, beautiful property. Been there before and it's always a great stay. Will definitely be coming back.
