Canjahawon Nipa Hut Homestay

We had a wonderful stay at Canjahawon Nipahut Homestay. The place is cozy, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. Being a traditional nipa hut in a secluded natural setting, encountering a few bugs is completely normal and expected. Other than that, everything was great. The owners and staff were exceptionally kind, warm, and accommodating. I had a tummy upset during our stay, and they even graciously accommodated my request for fish, which I truly appreciated. The views are beautiful, and the property is so close to nature. It's the perfect place to unwind, disconnect, and enjoy the simple beauty of the outdoors. I absolutely loved our time there and will definitely be coming back.

The owner and everyone working there is super kind! Rent a scooter to reach the place otherwise it will be complicated to move around! We did not eat on site but the food option was good.

If you are not used to nature, the nights can get a bit.. scary. There is a space between the roof and the walls so animals gets in easily (mostly gekos, but not the small ones). I would suggest spending one night for the experience but not more. Internet is only in the main building and if you have a local sim card, there is no service up there.

Canjahawon Nipa Hut is the perfect place to slow down and reconnect. The food there was delicious, the welcome so warm, and the sweetest dog made it feel even more like home. The cacao experience was truly special, deeply rooted in tradition and made with so much care. I left feeling rested and grateful. I hope to be back some day!♥️

It was an epic journey for us. Very remote location in the mountains which make it very hard to find a taxi. Room very basic, no hot water. Room open from everywhere so be prepared to have insects/geckos inside the room. Flynet need to be replace and cleaned. No signal, no wifi. If you have big suitcase, forgot it ! We had 2 big suitcases and it was a nightmare to carry them around. Slippery Stairs everywhere in the property. Motorbike essentials to travel around. We only recommend this place if you want to be very close to the nature with minimum facilities.
