The Salty Dog has been completely renovated! An exciting rental property-a renovated kitchen, bathroom and all furnishings! A 650 sq. ft. open floor plan with lots of windows that is perfect for a couple or small families. Two bedrooms, a bath and an open kitchen with a large screened-in side porch for morning coffee and sunset cocktails. There is an outside shower for a refreshing treat! The charming furnishings have been chosen carefully by the owner. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans to keep you cool and high speed internet to keep you connected. Nestled in the trees and backing up to protected land this house is a private getaway and a birders' paradise! Enjoy a short walk to Alexander Avenue beach to share idyllic beach days with dolphin pods who play, feed and sleep in the waters just off of this beach. Stites Avenue beach, also an easy walk, is a guarded beach safe for children of all ages to play in its calm waters. Another short walk to the "Circle", a grassy park area is a perfect spot for an after the beach stroll, game of catch or a picnic. Bring your bicycles , riding is easy and convenient at the Point and will allow quick access to the Cape May Lighthouse State Park and Nature Preserve. Renting bikes is a quick phone call prior to your visit and they'll be awaiting your arrival. Swan-filled Lake Lily is around the corner. There are organic produce and eggs at Beach Plum Farm and fresh bread on Sunset every morning! Take part in a relaxing daily ritual and bring a glass to Alexander Beach and enjoy the stunning sunsets. The Salty Dog offers an affordable dog-friendly family vacation for up to 3 adults or 2 adults with small children. Cape May Point is a quiet, family oriented community of 600 homes. Wonderful experience here…rental was nicely decorated, loved that we were able to walk to the beach, and that Sharon provided beach tags was a nice touch!

We had an amazing stay at the Salty Dog! The location was perfect and the space was more than enough for our group (three adults and one dog). Being so close to the beach was a huge advantage. Sharon was an excellent host and gave us plenty of recommendations for fun things to do in Cape May. We are looking forward to visiting again!

This was a perfect location for us; dog-friendly & walkable to beach but were very disappointed in a variety of ways.
Outside looked nothing like the pix; unkempt & overgrown. Inside had broken bathroom fan (not fun with a bathroom and home of this size), broken window latches, and and inadequate security (simple door lock only and no ability to lock two windows). I personally prefer window coverings in my bedroom and bathroom; note that there are none.
Inadequate bedroom lighting. Had a few sheets of TP and paper towels and 2 oz. of dish detergent for our 5 day stay. Sharon did bring some over the net day. Bring colander for cooking and extension cords if you read in bed.
Expected more based on reviews and price point.
Also note there were skunks eating the porch pumpkin on the steps. We saw the skunk on the second day of our stay on the steps.
