About this house rental

A Grá Mo Croí - (My Heart's Desire) is a traditional Irish-style cottage in Roads / Kells. It lies at the end of a cul-de-sac on a mountain slope with a fantastic view of Dingle Bay, the Dingle Peninsula and the Atlantic Ocean with the offshore Blasket Islands. The house and the beautiful garden are located on a 7000qm large plot and give enough privacy. In beautiful tranquility, away from everyday life, you can enjoy the cosiness of the cottage, after you return from a walk in the fresh sea air. The house has three bedrooms.
On the ground floor there is a bedroom with adjoining bathroom. This bedroom has a double bed.
In the attic there are two bedrooms. One has two single beds and the other has a large single bed. There is also a shower room.
If you have prepared your meal in the well-equipped kitchen, you can enjoy it in the winter garden with breathtaking views.
General Information: The Iveragh Peninsula is mainly characterized by the Ring of Kerry, which is the main attraction of southwestern Ireland in County Kerry. But not only the scenic road but also the surroundings of Killarney and Valentia Island and Skellig Michael belong to the Iveragh, where inside with the McGillycuddy Reeks are also the highest mountains in the country. The peninsula has pretty much everything about prehistoric and early monuments that Ireland's history offers. Outstanding are Abbeys, Castles (around Killarney), Duns, Friary, Sacred Springs, Ogham Stones, Menhirs, Wedge tombs and the great Alignement of Eightercua. The place Killorglin is known for the three-day festival "Puck Fair" (beginning 10th of August). The festival, based on Celtic traditions, in which mainly animals are involved, is a crowned goat as king. The occasion of the festival was Christianized. The buck, however, originally symbolized the Irish goddess. His monument in the village represents him standing on a boulder. A detour from Cahersiveen on the Valentia River leads to the Steinforts or Duns of Cahergall and Leacanabuaile. To the west are Valentia Island and Beginish Island. The tiny Church Island, whose monastery dates back to 750 AD, can only be reached by private initiative from the pier in Cahersiveen. Valentia Island can also be reached by boat from there or from Reenard Point to Knightstown, the main settlement on the island. There is a road connection over the bridge at Portmagee. The island is between Knightstown and the Bray Head Lighthouse about 10 km long and only 3-4 km wide. Away from the busy narrow streets of the Ring of Kerry lies the Wandererparadies, the entire hilly southwest with the main town Ballinskelling with the old Priory. From here you can book private tours (30-40 €) to Skellig Michael, the island of monks, the puffin.

This was an amazing find. My husband and I decided to explore the ring of Kerry and this place was a magnificent addition to the experience. The photos on the listing do not do it justice, and as some other comments stated, it’s way too cheap for that Margitta ks charging for it. We came off season, with wind and constant rain, but this place made the trip. It was so cozy. warm and incredibly comfortable, especially all the LED and glow in the dark fixtures. If you are looking for a warm, quiet place to stay with an amazing view, definitely check this jem out. thank you so much for hosting us, we are definitely coming back again.

Our first impressions of this VRBO rental were that it showed better than the actual pictures. The workmanship/craftmanship that the builder put into every detail was nothing short of amazing. We enjoyed the sitting in the two chairs drinking coffee overlooking Dingle Bay. Spectacular views of the ocean out front and the mountains in back. The home was extremely clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We came to see the countryside of Ireland but found ourselves loving this home. Margitta was absolutely the best and was very helpful in answering our questions. She is a sweet person and definitely understands hospitality. We are from the United States, and I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone comparing places to stay.

Outstanding!!
Outstanding!!
A beautiful house, so very comfy, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Margitta and Dieter are the perfect hosts and were excellent at handling our queries and had the entire house stocked and ready for our arrival. Excellent base for travelling around, incredibly breathtaking views, Mountains stretching all around the property. You literally wake up with the Ring of Kerry outside your window, and can see across the bay to dingle harbor and inch beach..We just spent the entire time sitting on the balcony watching boats go by, and the animals walking around in the fields outside. So peaceful and calm. Thank you both so very much for making our holiday so very special. We will absolutely come back again next year!!

A Cottage Worthy of it Magnificent Setting
A Cottage Worthy of it Magnificent Setting
My family have been going to Kerry for almost four decades and have stayed in numerous rentals over the years. This trip we were travelling alone for our 35th wedding anniversary so it had to be something very special. Knowing the area so well, we realized the setting would be superb. What we did not know was how beautifully done the home would be. Not only was the construction of a very high quality but the furnishings and contents of the home were also beautiful and thoughtful. One realized right away that this was no mere rental but the private getaway of Margitta and her husband. They had lovingly implemented their vision of just what they had dreamed of after years of careful thinking and planning. The house had everything you could need or wish for. In addition, the garden and landscaping was delightful and magical. Upon arrival, before we even went in, were immediately drawn to the terrace on the back of the house and were entranced by the sweeping views of Dingle Bay and Penisula. We could see all the way from the Blasket Islands in the West, to Inch Beach and Rossbeigh Strand in the East...and everything in between; Slea Head, Mount Eagle, Ventry, Dingle Harbour, Mount Brandon...we were giddy with delight. We have a saying when we go to Ireland; "if you go for the weather you are crazy!" Naturally, the rain and mist never let us see that view so perfectly again but we still stayed glued to the bay window in the living room where we enjoyed the ever changing weather and views. We enjoyed beautiful walks and the peacefulness of the setting. It exceeded our expectations in every way. On a final note, we ourselves have several vacation cottages in the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I have designed them and built them and always felt they were the very best but now I must surrender that title. Thanks for sharing your A Grá Mo Croí with us. Warm Regards, Frank and Angélique
