About this cottage rental


Cozy, charming lakefront cottage on quiet, spring-fed Lake Chaffee. Relax on the deck, dock or private beach. Swim, canoe, kayak or paddleboard around the lake to one of the little islands. Float on a raft, fish, enjoy the changing light, read, nap, go hiking in the nearby state park, or bike on scenic roadways.

Too calm? Head out for some antiquing in Pomfret, Woodstock or Brimfield, or head towards the CT wine trail, Sturbridge Village, nearby University of Connecticut, Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods Casinos, or Thompson International Speedway. Or try a ropes course or zip line at The Adventure Park at Storrs.

If you don't feel like grilling with lake views and eating under the stars, then head out to local, charming cafes.

The cottage itself is fully equipped - simple but comfortable indoor/outdoor living. Two bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, and a living and dining area which opens up to a very large deck overlooking the lake. Wi-Fi, cable television, free movies, music, board games, cards and books. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit in the evening.

Located in historic Ashford, Connecticut, between New York City and Boston and an easy commute to Hartford, Boston or NY.

We love it here. We've rented this place for 5 years now and will again. It is so peaceful and my husband loves the fishing. I only wish there was a closer store. Just make sure you have enough food, lol. Everything else is supplied by the owner. Kathy is wonderful and quick to respond. You won't be disappointed believe me.

This was our third repeat vacation at this spot......no disappointments and only one rainy day. Also found a new restaurant for take-out: Mid-Way Pizza....outstanding. Left the menu on the refrigerator.

Just returned home from my second stay at this cottage. It was a very relaxing week. It’s a very nice spot on a quiet lake. Kathy makes it easy to check in/out and is very responsive to messages. I’m hoping to be able to do this again next year!
