We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The house was just as expected. We loved that there was a grocery store just a couple of minutes away. The host had extras that we don’t typically find in rentals including laundry detergent, coffee pods and grounds, sugar and hand soap in all bathrooms. There were plenty of towels for showers and the hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Bear Hollow had it's up and downs. In its current state, I wouldn't recommend this rental to a friend. There is a lot of room for improvement; however this could easily become a wonderful rental if a few changes were made. The house wasn't ready when we showed up. We called Lynn & she got us in right away. It wasn't a big deal & was cleared up quickly. The week before our arrival we had requested a high chair & pack n' play, those items were not there. It was communicated to us that they'd be there shortly; however they didn't and when it was time for our littlest to go to bed, we had to send a reminder text. Thankfully they were dropped off shortly after that. On day two, my mother set off the fire alarm while cooking breakfast. We thought that, like most smoke detectors, if we cleared whatever smoke there was by opening the windows & fanning it away that it would turn off. It did not. The security system in the house needs a passcode to turn it off. We called Lynn & she was unsure of what the code was. The fire department showed up & the Captain told us that it wasn't the first time they had been to that house (wasn't the worst offender but they'd definitely been there before). It took 30 minutes before the alarm was even silenced. Meanwhile, the kids had to be outside in the sprinkling rain because the alarm was so loud. The owners did not have the code to reset it and were unable to figure out what it was. They had us try a few numbers, none of which worked. Finally after 30 minutes it was silenced. On the phone, the security company said they would be out that afternoon to look at it. They never showed up, the owners never communicated to us any updates and the alarm was still going off (although silenced) when we left days later. A few other things to note… Pros: - Great location - it was close to downtown without feeling close to the hustle & bustle. It was really easy to get to all of the hiking we wanted which was great because we could easily go home to eat lunch. - The outside patio was wonderful - we sat in the rocking chairs every morning & watch the fog over the mountains. It is very pretty! - The hot tub was very nice & a great way to relax after a day of hiking. - The layout of the house is very nice! The dining room, kitchen & living room are so open so you feel like you're spending your time together even if you're in a separate room. Cons: - After about a day, it felt like everything was breakin
