10 Minutes to Cherry Springs, Dark Skies, Star Gazing, Hiking, Fishing, Skiing

This place was great, the inside was clean and neat. The upstairs was a bit hot so bring a fan to get the cold flowing up, rest of the house was very cool, The other thing I would have to comment on is not the property per se, its the pictures in the posting, they do not do it justice. Its so much nicer and the pictures looked good. The dining table is huge. The property was VERY private. The front yard looked like a post card. We sat out at night and watched the stars come alive it was so quiet, I mean sooo quiet. Benn was super nice and replied right back with a question. So as you can tell we loved it!

This was a tricky review because it's a mixed bag. To start with, the owner was very nice and quick to respond, which was great.1. Cleanliness - the inside of the home has a wonderful, woodsy scent and was very clean. The dining table is huge, the kitchen very nice, and the main room bigger than we thought. What brought the rating down, though, was the area around the door. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was littered with (large) dog feces. Just getting from the car to the door I stepped in a pile. The owner came out very quickly to have his cleaner take care of it but there were at least two shovelfuls of feces.2. Accuracy - As I said, the inside of the home is very nice, but we were very disappointed to find that the tower which is shown in the pictures (showing both the tower itself and the table and chairs on top) is missing the first flight of stairs and is completely inaccessible. Since we were there specifically for stargazing, the tower was one of the big things we were looking forward to using. These photos need to be removed from the listing.Again, the owner was very responsive (you need to contact him to switch between AC and Heat and it was about 80 in the daytime and 50s overnight) and very kind. I'd have loved to have given this a 4 or 5 stars, but the yard near the home being a mess (we arrived around 5 in the afternoon) and the tower being shown in the listing being closed knocked it down.

The pictures of the property do not do it justice. The house inside is so much more spacious than it looks and the property is very spacious and the view is amazing. It is so quiet and dark at night. Great for sky viewing and quiet time away from city noise.
