About Granite Point

Granite Point is a remote haven located on Resurrection Bay, just 12 miles from Seward, Alaska. Accessible only by boat or helicopter, the property features four private cabins and one larger lodge, all perched on a dramatic cliffside. This unique location offers unparalleled views of Resurrection Bay and the surrounding mountains.

For adventurers, Granite Point is a dream come true. Enjoy direct access to our private beach, hiking trails, and complimentary use of paddleboards and kayaks. Steps from your door, find world-class paddling—explore alongside humpback whales, sea lions, and porpoises while birdwatching, fishing, or simply soaking in the magic of the fjords.

Please note, this is a remote setting. To reach your cabin, guests will ascend four steep staircases and traverse a short 30-yard trail. As such, travelers should be self-reliant, in good physical condition, and prepared for a bit of adventure. We recommend backpack-style packing, as suitcases can be difficult to manage on the stairs. Be sure to bring gear suited to your activities, including sturdy hiking boots, full rain gear, and warm synthetic layers. Additionally, guests should plan to bring their own food and drinking ice for coolers. Bathrooms provided are outhouses or composting toilets.

Please note that Pepper Creek Cabin is accessible directly from the beach, and avoids the staircases and trail.

Staying at Pepper Creek was the highlight of our trip on Alaska. Cabin super cozy and even a little nicer than the pictures. Few minor things that we let the host know about that could be improvements, but that’s with anywhere you stay. Location is incredible.

I spent two nights in June 2022 at this cabin along with my husband, 11 year old son and 14 year old son. The natural beauty around the cabin was spectacular. However, I found the description of the property was a bit lacking. I think it would be helpful to plainly state that there is NO electricity and no outlets to plug things in. I think that this is a positive aspect of the cabin, but it is not plainly stated anywhere. We did not prepare for this and our phones died before we could take a lot of pictures. As far as kitchen appliances, There is a camping stove (2 burners) with attached oven that is powered by a propane tank (provided). Although the description describes different foodstuffs that are available, you should bring your own coffee (very small amount of Folgers available) and tea ( a few bags of earl gray available). There was no hot chocolate. There were no granola bars or other treats, as implied. Also, with regards to the privacy, there is a beach where you land. It is a shared landing beach for you and for at least 3 other cabins and the lodge. While these other dwellings are not next to the cabin, they are up a steep staircase to the side. These renters shared the kayaks and SUPs with you. There were no problems with any of this, but I just think that it should be clear that this cabin is remote but not alone. We saw at least 10-12 people up and down the stairs in front of the cabin, getting kayaks or just coming down to the beach chairs. If you are looking for an isolated getaway, this is not for you. While we had a wonderful experience enjoying the surrounding nature, the cabin itself was a bit lacking in its description and cleanliness, which is why I gave it a 3.
