Beautiful Lakefront Home in Sullivan County

I planned this vacation kind of last minute because my 18 year old nephew is here.I looked for properties between the Jersey shore and Scranton. My price point was actually double what I paid, but this was the only property that was on the water.I was a little nervous. What was going to be wrong with it? I read all the reviews before I left, and there was one that talked about having to go up 20 steps, and in my mind's eye I pictured us having to park at the road walk up a bunch of steps and then walk a ways to the cabin. Luckily I had my 27 year old son and 18 year old nephew with me. I will just put them to work.I was pleasantly surprised that there was ample parking for our 3 cars. We parked right in front of the cabin. Yes. There were steps. You have to walk up the steps to get to the deck, and that's where the entrance was.No neighbors, 35 minutes to McDonald's.The property is EXACTLY like the pictures. 2 bedrooms downstairs with 2 full bathrooms. The queen bed is luckily downstairs.The loft is accessible by a ladder.The pond is very shallow. My son is an avid fisherman and he didn't catch anything on the day he went out.We had 2 kayaks. It took my son a little work to get it in. The hill is extremely steep. Some stairs and a dock could help.The fire pit is amazing, very big with an opening you walk into to throw the wood on. The only drawback is that it's very steep. I did fall, but luckily I didn't get hurt. Stairs would be nice.

Lovely home with all the necessities except central air. We were there in July and it was hot and humid. The portable units were great for the bedrooms, but the loft was unusable due to the heat. Otherwise, the house is perfect. Comfy beds and furniture. Nice deck with a view of the lake. No cell service, but you can use the wifi for calling and scrolling. No yard, but quiet dirt roads for walking dogs. Great communication with Margo. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

The cottage is a great getaway for peace and quiet, very private with all the amenities of home. It is nicely decorated with a cabin flare, great wrap around porch and a pond to add to the serene feel. I would definitely like to rent again.

The space is great and the setting is beautiful. We just didn't read the notes well enough to know that we needed to bring our own sheets and towels and the area is very remote, so there's no just running out and buying some.
