This cottage is perfect for a couple looking to save money but still have a million dollar view. In Kealakekua Bay, just 3 minutes from some of the best snorkeling and wildlife viewing in the world, atop 49 tropical steps sits this private bungalow. There is a full sized outdoor kitchen, and modernized indoor/outdoor bathroom. This rental is suggested only for people confident in climbing 49 steps (see photos) multiple times daily as the stairs climb high to get the beautiful views and privacy.
The house is located on a private road. There is a kitty cat that will come and visit and ask for snacks, she is very sweet. There is a 10p.m. no noise ordinance for the neighborhood. Noise travels very easily in the bay, you might not see people but you can still hear them. You can always go inside if you want to stay up later.

My husband and I stayed here for a night on our honeymoon and wish it was for longer. We had such an incredible night watching the sunset and enjoyed the very relaxing and secluded experience here. The host was great and very responsive upon our arrival and we hope to stay here again next time we visit the big island!

This cottage was perfect for us. Secluded, with everything we needed. Epic sunsets! We actually liked climbing the stairs since we weren't getting as much exercise as usual. The outdoor kitchen is well-stocked and we appreciated the seating areas outside. Everything was clean and comfortable. The furnishings are simple and tasteful, matching the whole feel of the cottage. The hosts were very communicative and helpful. A shout out to the property manager who was responsive and informative and did an exceptional job ensuring everything was super clean. If you like nature and serenity, this should be high on your list. As other reviewers (and the property description) make clear, it is not for everyone.
