Escape to 180 del Mar, a private four-bedroom retreat perched above Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast with sweeping 180° ocean views, lush jungle surroundings, spectacular sunsets, and brilliant starry skies. Set across three distinctive octagonal towers, the home offers exceptional space and privacy: four detached bedroom suites, each with a private terrace, view, generous closet, and en-suite bathroom. Three suites have king beds and one has a queen; a full-size futon and twin trundle are available upon request.
Relax in the spacious indoor-outdoor living area, prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen, dine inside or on the veranda, and cool off in the ocean-facing pool. Comfortable furnishings, handcrafted woodwork, laundry facilities, and a powder room make longer stays easy. Located in a gated community for added privacy and security; a 4x4 vehicle is required.
While 180 del Mar feels wonderfully secluded, it is conveniently close to national parks, a wide range of tours, beaches for strolling, swimming, and surfing, as well as grocery stores, gas stations, medical clinics, and banks. Nature surrounds the home, with frequent visits from tropical birds, monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife. Guests who enjoy walking can explore neighborhood routes ranging from leisurely strolls to more challenging hikes, and Poza Azul waterfall makes a refreshing stop at the bottom of the hill.

I stayed at this location for a month and left feeling rested and rejuvenated. The birdwatching from the patio was fabulous, toucans, kites, motmot, trogans as well as the endemics to the area. We heard howler monkeys daily but only saw them at the waterfall on the road up to the house. We had the capuchin monkeys in the trees at the house one day. The kitchen had everything we needed. We just had to buy ice as the ice machine couldn't keep up with our needs. The rooms are comfortable and roomy. It is a jungle so you can expect some bugs. You definitely need to keep valuables locked up even if you are at the house by the pool. We were victims of some theft from the main area that cannot be secured. Definitely tell the host as soon as you know so that she can check the cameras. We did not realize that so we lost some cash, chocolates and a water bottle but not the liquor that was on the kitchen counter. The beaches that are close are beautiful if you don't go to the main town beaches. The grocery store is within 15 min. The pool is a lovely place to end your day of adventures and watch the sunset. The water was a little cloudy early on but they treated it and we enjoyed it once it cleared up.Overall the value was great and it was such a pleasant place to enjoy family and friends.

I had a group of 9 and stayed for two weeks. We had a wonderful time! House location is magical! Definitely is a drive up a pretty steep hill to get there so 4x4 is recommended but that seems to be the case with most of the homes in Dominical so nothing unusual. House layout was perfect for us. I loved the separate beds. I get up way before the kids so it was really nice to be able to make coffee and noise without worrying about waking the kiddos up. Elizabeth was the best host I think I’ve ever had! I kid you not as soon as I contacted her about anything within 5 minutes whatever I wanted was granted:) Truly the best! I’m definitely going to stay here again if I’m ever lucky enough to come back!

We LOVED this beautiful VRBO. The space was ideal, there were beautiful birds and animals, the kitchen was great for cooking, and the host was kind and very responsive.

Large interesting gem tucked away waaay up the Mtn. thru the little village of Dominicalita. Must have 4x4! Saw gorgeous birds, sound of monkeys, and had an OWL perched right by the living room. He didn’t mind our gawking! So sad the pool was murky and couldn’t be fixed our whole five days. Never would’ve stayed if we had known. We appreciated the discount the owner offered. The main living room is stunning. Usually giant grasshoppers and the odd few “beetles” but surprisingly not bothersome. Fascinating little place extraordinarily perched above the jungle. What a view. Would’ve been exceptional if not for the lack of pool. Showers and toilets not too charming I admit … like little old closets. Beds very extremely comfortable with stunning views. Power went out as suggested but didn’t last bit a few hours.
