Royal Garden at Waikiki

Room was spacious, had air conditioning and lovely view

We didn’t receive notification that it was a unit within the hotel and needed codes etc to get the key into unit. Had to make calls so very frustrating after a long flight.

it was located near a lot of the shops, stores and restaurants.

It wasn’t what I expected as a Wyndham property. it felt like staying at someone’s home instead of a hotel or resort.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was good. We enjoyed the complimentary box of macadamia nut chocolates! The booking manager was able to arrange an early check in for us. This was greatly appreciated because our overnight flight arrived at 7 am.

I liked the ability to use some of the resort amenities, the resort employees were friendly and helpful, and the location was close enough to the beach that we could walk there. The room came with pool towels, beach towels, and a few other beach toys.

They do not have their own parking lot/garage, so the options were to park on the street with restricted times, or pay the $50/day for valet. The bathroom was very small; there was only a standing shower stall that my 6' husband could barely fit in, the bathroom didn't have a working vent, and the bathroom door was not solid so you didn't have much privacy to conduct your business. The room didn't come with basic things like hand soap, or more than two washcloths, or plates to eat meals, so that was a little disappointing. The room did have a pull-out couch which was nice; however, one of the throw pillows has a tear in it, the couch bed pillows didn't have pillow cases, and the blankets had stains so we were hesitant to use it. Also, the curtains and a lamp shade had a few stains. Overall, the room met our needs, but we were left with the overall impression that the bare minimum effort was made and that there was a lack of attention-to-detail when preparing the room for guests.
