A short drive to the Mayflower Inn & Spa and other Washington Restaurants, Galleries, Shops and Litchfield Shopping and Restaurants. Pristine renovation with 5 bedrooms all with smart HD TVs, new Frette Cotton linens, down feather beds, comforters, pillows, large eat-in kitchen, new stainless steel appliances, gas range, side-by-side refrigerator, fully furnished. 5 minutes to Lake Waramaug, 30 minutes to Mohawk Mountain skiing. Washington is located in historic, rural Litchfield County, within a scenic 2-hour drive from NYC and is exceptional for its excellent restaurants, spas, antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, farms, historic homes, gardens, vineyards, distilleries, and orchards. The Gilmore Girls creator modeled Stars Hollow, the perfect Connecticut town, after Washington and the Independence Inn after the Mayflower Inn. It is the current or former home to many artists, writers, actors and Wall Street executives – referred to as "more Vermont, than Vermont" and "the un-Hamptons". Nature preserves, Lake Waramaug, and the Shepaug River offer extensive hiking, biking, and water activities. Mohawk and Sundown Ski Areas , Lime Rock Raceway, and Quassy Amusement Park are all a short drive. ExploreWashingtonCT and PoshPadsCT have the best listings of area amenities and event calendars. All of my homes in Washington and Roxbury (PoshPadsCT) are beautifully landscaped with flowering shrubs, flagstone terraces with gas bbq. And heated pools. They are furnisged with Frette pressed cotton sheets, plush towels and bathrobes, down featherbeds, comforters and pillows. Optional maid and catering and massage services are available. All homes have Central heat and AC, WiFi, flat screen televisions with dvds, cable and movie channels, and central alarms.
A car is necessary to enjoy rural Roxbury, Washington and Litchfield County.
The nearest bus station is Southbury, 15 minutes away.
The nearest train stations are in Amenia and Wingdale NY or Danbury or New Haven CT – all about 45 minutes away.
Monthly rates have utilities and snow plowing, lawn mowing, pool cleaning and pool heat billed as incurred. There is a $2000/month security/utilities deposit.

Stephen was a tremendous host. He was extremely prompt and responsive. Everything was exactly as advertised. The home was very comfortable, clean and easy to use. We really enjoyed the trip.

Stayed for a week with our daughter and her family and son and his family (total of 6 adults and 4 kids ages 7-12. House is very comfortable with a nice game room and family room. The swimming pool was a huge hit- very nice to have a heated pool, even in the summer! We had a great time and will very likely come back!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the property. Everything was as advertised, property owner was incredibly communicative / accessible, and the house was perfect for our family celebrating my wife’s birthday. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend the house and owner!

At first glance, the house was wonderful. It has a great pool, and it has a great deck off of the kitchen that is covered and has plenty of seating. The coffee pot had a science project in the filter, the sink had two grungy stoppers, the sponge for cleaning dishes was used, and the worst part was that the downstairs gamerooms area was soaking wet when we arrived. This had obviously been a problem for a while as there was an awful stench from sitting water (in and under the rug) which rendered the downstairs gamerooms unusable. The second to last evening there was very heavy rain which created a leak through a kitchen light. The response was that the upstairs deck was allowing water inside the house because that was the unprotected side of the house. We were told the water in the gameroom area was from condensation from the A/C. Then get it fixed.
