About this country house rental
This fully renovated farmhouse is centrally located between the towns of Woodstock (7 miles) and Saugerties (8 miles) at the base of Platte Clove in West Saugerties. The neighborhood is only 10 minutes off interstate 87 yet feels completely secluded and serene, surrounded by nature and charming farm houses. Easy access to Hunter Mountain for skiing (25 min drive), the town of Hudson (30 min drive) and all other parts of the Catskill region. We have lists of the best shopping, eating and sightseeing around and are happy to give you tips on what to do while you're here.
The house has five equally appointed bedrooms (1 on the 1st floor, 4 on the 2nd floor) with brand new Queen size beds and all new linens & bedding in each. The rooms are charming, clean and cozy with a mix of antique and handmade furnishings. Closets and bureaus are empty and available for guest use in all upstairs bedrooms, the place is yours!
First floor has a TV room with a large sectional sofa (for 8) and LG SmartTV (With WiFi) and an adjacent sitting room, perfect for cocktail hour or card games. We do not have cable TV. Feel free to bring your own Apple TV, Roku or video game systems.
Bathrooms are bright and squeaky clean with wall to wall subway tile and all brand new fixtures. Upstairs bathroom is very spacious and has tub with shower and linen closet, first floor has stall shower and laundry. Towels and bath products are provided.
Plumbing Note: This home is on a septic system. Please do not flush any trash, paper towels, sanitary products or baby wipes down the toilet.
The heart of the house is the 800+ sq ft Kitchen/Dining Great Room complete with rustic farm table that can seat 10-12 people. We encourage guests to make them selves at home and cook at the house. New stainless steel appliances and all of the cookware, glassware and dishes you'll need are provided.
This house is perfect for friend reunions, family get togethers and those who like to throw a picture perfect dinner party! There are fantastic farm stands, meat markets and wine stores in Saugerties and Woodstock. We can also recommend many local restaurants. The Hudson Valley has no shortage of good food!
Children are welcome but please be aware the house has very steep stairs and the kitchen is not childproof. Children should be supervised at all times in the house. There are two wooden child safety gates in the house for use in the top and bottom of the stairwell.
Our No-Pet policy is very strict. We do not allow pets in the house at any time, regardless of size.
No smoking in the house. This includes vape pens, they have been know to set of the fully connected smoke detector system inside the house (when one goes off they all go off).
OUTDOOR AREAS: Patio umbrella must stay closed and tied shut when not in use! We get very strong winds off the mountains and we don't want the umbrella to fly away. Please be mindful and respectful of the adjacent neighbors in the white house. Keep outside music and socializing to a reasonable level during summer months and respect quiet time past 9PM at all times.
Grill: There are spare propane tanks to the left of the shed. Guests are responsible for filling propane tanks should they choose to use the grill. Please keep grill clean and turn off propane after use! Food scraps on the grill will attract bears and raccoons.
Fire Pit: Guests may use fire pit at their own risk. Guests must provide their own, locally store bought (DRY) fire wood and kindling. Do not pull dead branches or cut trees from the woods behind the house. Do not attempt a camp fire during rainy or windy weather. Make sure fire and embers are completely extinguished when you're done using the fire pit.
Driveway has enough space to park 5 or 6 cars at the most. Please avoid driving on the grass and be careful entering exiting the driveway.
We encourage you to enjoy the space with your group but please do not invite guests over that aren't part of the group staying in the house. No more than 10 people in the house.

Overall this property is as shown in listing. Good communications with host. Pulling into and out of driveway off narrow winding road was challenging at times. The front porch, Windows, screens and tracks could use a good cleaning. Water pressure is not great and hot water needs to be managed (i.e., showers spaced out) to ensure everyone has enough. A box of tissues would have been nice. The pots/pans were non-stick coated and scratched, which renders them not as safe to use. We bought firewood for the fire pit and left some for the next guest.

This home was just perfect. It is beautifully decorated with so many interesting details to enjoy and had every comfort of home to make our stay so comfortable and convenient.

This house fit the 10 of us perfectly! We had the best time, and fell in love with the area. Would absolutely recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a chill, beautiful time away from the city :)
