ベーコンは煮るのでは無く、焼いて欲しかった

Handy location, very clean, comfy beds, nice onsen. We had dinner incl which was a huge array of Japanese dishes, served in a rather canteen-like dining room amongst the yukata wearing (post bath) clientele. Whilst not the smartest place, it was fun and very authentic to see the 99.9% Japanese clientele in their element. Staff spoke some English too which isn’t a given outside the Japanese cities.

The dining experience wasn’t as good as other similar places we stayed on our trip, making this hotel not such good value IMO - for the same price elsewhere we had fabulous food in beautiful surroundings, whereas the communal spaces in this hotel had a municipal feel, and the food wasn’t as fresh or imaginative. We were told on arrival (5.40pm) that we would have to eat dinner at 6.20pm and have breakfast at 7.15! The Japanese are early to bed and early to rise - and I’m used to this - but this did seem a bit rigid.

食事も府屋も予想以上でした。

天文台イベントはがっかりでした。

Room was good. The outdoor bath was ok but doesn’t provide any interesting views from it. Pretty old but well kept. The food was standard ryokan food, ok but not very exciting.

The nearby beach is like a dumpsite. The idea of a nice stroll on the beach was quickly vaporised when setting your feet on garbage with every step. The shuttle bus could be better synchronised with the rapid train. The town itself has very little (none) to offer.
