Apartment in the Parisergasse

Wonderful old-fashioned apartment in rhe historic center. We lived rhe feeling of being in an apartment that felt like your grandmother’s, if she lived in turn-of-the century Vienna. The place is large and very comfy; staying here was in itself a museum experience worthy of rhe best Vienna museum.We were unfortunate in that the lift was our rhe entire time we were there, which meant a long walk up 3 flights on the spiral staircase. Our host, who responded wuickly whenever I got in touch, was as apologetic and as helpful as possible, though unfortunately there was nothing that could be done. For an old apartment, it had a very new kitchen and shower. Hot water came up quickly. The apartment is pretty well maintained, though not pristine. There are areas, such as under the bedroom chest, which could use a good cleaning. But overall, the place is oozing charm and character and you can’t go wrong staying in a place that feels like you’ve stepped into a Time Machine and woke up a century earlier.

My wife and I lived in Vienna for some years and return regularly. This perfectly-located, “old-world” apartment is the perfect home base for enjoying all Vienna has to offer. Monika was responsive if needed, but with everything at hand at the well-equipped apartment, we simply enjoyed our weeks of living again in Vienna.

We LOVED the ceilings and the chandeliers, and well pretty much just EVERYTHING about this apartment! It was a taste of old Vienna beginning with the stairwell and elevator to the Jugendstil ceilings. The area has several reasonably priced restaurants, winding cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages passing on a connecting street, a lovely cookbook/spice store that even serves coffee & tea just around the corner, and a wonderful bakery around the other corner. We had a terrific vacation and the apartment was absolutely one of the best parts! The only down side was that the internet went out the last two days of our stay.

We had a very pleasant stay in the apartment in Vienna. There was what we needed. And it was certainly centrally located in the city.The apartment was a bit cool and it was not possible to warm it up.
