About this house rental

Enjoy a little slice of paradise in our guest house. Master bedroom has 1,000 thread count sheets. Both bedrooms have upgraded orthopedic mattresses. We’ve recently remodeled the bathroom. Well stocked kitchen, with coffee maker, blender, pots, pans, cutlery etc.. Coffee, sugar, creamer, & some spices provided. 6 beach towels provided along with 2 beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler and a boogie board. Enjoy the large 1/2 acre property and solar heated pool April through October. Two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, with large living room and kitchen. Barbecue available to use along with an outdoor table to enjoy your meals. Five minutes to grocery store, shops, restaurants and coffee shop. Five minute drive to get to the 805 Freeway. Very conveniently located. 20 min drive to Coronado and 25 min drive from the airport, Balboa Park and the zoo. Sorry no kids under 6 and no pets. Thank you.

Checkin went Smooth and warm welcome from the on Property Owners.Pool - WARNING -IT IS NOT HEATED as Marketed, and we were told it hasn’t worked for at least the last year or more.We were told that we could pay 50 per day to heat the SPA, and then later told that HEATER was also BROKE. Pool Area - when we arrived there were some pool items out, but nothing too outrageous. What was a bit disappointing were all the spider webs and dirt… meaning there were leaves ‘dirt’ on the furniture. You could tell no one had done anything to prepare/clean the back yard for our arrival. Living Quarters - Everything looked just fine when we arrived. Noticed throughout the stay that the owners were having a significant issue with ants in the kitchen and spare bedroom. If anything were left overnight in the sink, let alone in the counter, there would be hundreds of ants all over. Also, there were a couple ants who decide to sneak into bed with us throughout the stay… Also one of the spare beds was broke and slanted to one side. Probably the worst part of the situation is that the owners, instead of accepting and trying to own the fact that the pool wasn’t being heated and that they had not marketed it properly, tried to argue that it was warm enough (84 degrees) during the day. (Note: We were not sitting at the pool during the day, and paid to be able to enjoy it in the early morning and late evenings after we were done sightseeing. It was 76-78 at that time.)

We can’t say enough about this awesome place and its owners. Communication was top notch and it was just as described! Immaculate, quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, and close to everything we wanted to see and do! We had the perfect amount of space for my family of 6 and being steps away from the pool was so much fun!!! 🥰Thank you!!! 🥰

This was our 3rd stay here. There is a reason because it's a perfect place for us to stay and visit our family members who live close by. The pool and the beautiful backyard are awesome. Property is convenient for shopping, dining out and traveling into the city. We will be back again.

Our mini family reunion in San Diego was wonderful and staying at the Casita was fun due to the gorgeous backyard with a heated swimming pool. We were grateful to have a gas grill for our nightly barbecues and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to make all your meals. The neighborhood is beautiful and near tennis courts, Costco, and close to the freeway. The hosts were welcoming and kind. The bed in the master bedroom was also very comfy. Thank you so much!

We had an amazing stay here in Chula Vista, it was a perfect location for seeing all that San Diego has to offer. While staying here we visited San Diego Zoo, San Diego Safari Park, Sea World, USS Midway, The Children’s Museum, Sesame Place Water Park, saw the seals and sea lions at La Jolla and did a whale watching cruise. All were a good driveable distance from this Casita. We loved coming “home” to it at the end of every day. The children loved the pool and the ping pong. All in all, we had a fabulous stay and we were very sad to leave. Celeste and Mark were great hosts and provided useful local knowledge to supplement the research we had done ahead of our stay.

We loved coming back to this casita after a hard day of sightseeing and lying on San Diego beaches. We took a couple of days to just hang out by the pool, relax and cook out. We loved having space for our family and laundry. The location is handy, safe and beautiful.

We were so happy with our stay! Everything that is described in the listing is 100% accurate. The house is very clean and the property is well maintained. It feels like you are on a tropical getaway. The location is perfect, most of the tourist activities including the beaches were within a 15 minute drive. Celeste was a perfect host, she offered wonderful recommendations regarding dining. We were in town with our kids (age 11 & 8) for a week. The property is very nice, the weather didn't cooperate much so we didn't get to use the pool but it's a very nice setup. There is off street parking and it's a nice neighborhood not far from all the tourist attractions (Beaches, SeaWorld, Zoo etc). We definitely would stay here again.

With so much to do while in San Diego, this was the perfect spot. You can easily get to any of the many major attractions, and come home to a peaceful secluded home. Or, spend the day relaxing out by the beatifully manicured pool and backyard, then go out for the night. Either way, it was perfect for our family (2 teenage boys, me and my husband). All the amenities and more - they truly thought of everything to make you feel at home!

We were absolutely thrilled to be staying here. Everything about the home was gorgeous, clean, put together beautifully. The pool and outside sitting was a dream…the outside lights at night looks awesome. We wish we could have got a little more time in around the pool but it was a tad cold outside, the kids loved the warmer temps in the pool and we enjoyed laying in the sunshine in the comfy pool furniture!! Host was punctual very sweet and kind and made sure our stay was good. It was really nice getting to meet her face to face as you don’t always get to do so. All in all we had a wonderful stay….and loved the home and location!!!

As a family of 4, we were more than pleased with our stay. Not only were we comfortable, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery surrounding the casita. This location is perfect to come back to relax after spending a busy day touring San Diego. The host Celeste was very gracious in providing pantry supplies and a few staples for the fridge. The casita was absolutely perfect in every way! It was cozy, clean and so adorable! The beds were so comfortable and it was so nice to have everything we needed to feel right at home including a coffee maker, beach towels and chairs, access to washer/dryer and the tranquility of the beautiful backyard! It was so nice to be able to have the kitchen to have a quick breakfast in before heading out to see what San Diego has to offer. Having the pool to ourselves was a real treat as well on days when chose to hang back and relax! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone and everyone! This is a fantastic place to stay to explore San Diego. I wasn't familiar with this area of town and it's a gem! The neighborhood is very tranquil and within a few miles are all kinds of fun places to explore including lots of good restaurants. The home itself is super comfortable and I missed the beds when I got home they were so nice! It was equipped with everything we could want. The pool area is even better than pictured and the water was nice and warm. We only really swam one time because the weather was in the high 60s and low 70s so it was the perfect temperature for being out and exploring all San Diego has to offer. If we visited when it was hotter I can only imagine how welcome that lovely pool would be after all the time out in the heat! It was also totally clean. Speaking of out and about, the home is nice and close to all kinds of great things San Diego has to offer. We did all the classics and most of our drives were only about a half hour or so, sometimes less. I highly recommend this place and hope we can come back ourselves!

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) really enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous property. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with hiking trails, close to shops and major attractions (20 minutes to downtown San Diego and Coronado beach for instance). The Casita was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. Celeste was a great host. While the guest house is on the same property as the owners, it felt private. My kids loved swimming in the large pool every afternoon after a day of sightseeing. Overall we had a wonderful time!

We've stayed in holiday homes all over Europe and the USA but cannot recall one as well appointed as the Casita. Plenty of space for our family of four (children aged 18 and 15) and the pool and grounds were beautiful. Its location allowed us to visit everywhere we wanted to in the San Diego region but we were always drawn back to the incredible pool to take advantage of the perfect climate that the area enjoys. Celeste was incredibly helpful before and during our stay and we cannot recommend the Casita highly enough. We definitely plan to return in the future.

From the moment we arrived everything was in place for a wonderful stay. A lovely welcome to a beautiful property that had everything you need without having to go out and get it. Celeste and her family gave us a very friendly welcome and we felt at home immediately. The property is very well furnished with all the amenities, and everything had been thought of, including a guide to the area. The pool was huge and immaculately clean. Outside there were a couple of tables to eat at and other furniture dotted about. The location was ideal for travelling around as close enough to the freeway and shops but far away enough from any noise. Thank you Celeste for having us at your casita...if we ever come back to the great city of San Diego we know where we will stay.

This was the first time my family and I used a VRBO. This place was great and beautiful! The property owner was very nice and professional! Always made sure we felt welcome and the casita had everything a family needed! Beautiful pool with landscaping as well! We loved San Diego and the many attractions there!! Sea World was amazing! The weather there was incredible as well. VRBO with this rental is where it’s at....great rate with comfy home....the pool...your own parking space...privacy. It may seem different at first staying in a casita in someone’s back yard because that’s not the norm. But this is 2019 and VRBO has many better options than just staying in a hotel/condo where you have to share the pool and not have all the comforts of a home. I’d highly recommend this place and my family and I would definitely stay there again should we come back to beautiful San Diego. Thank you again Salt family for your great place!
