Contemporary Boutique Bungalow with Backyard

This place was perfect. Very comfortable and well appointed. It was a last minute booking and they were so accommodating! Loved the porch swing. would definitely stay here again!

Excellent home. We only stayed one night as we were there to tour CALPOLY. But would definitely book it again when we come back for a future visits.

This property was perfect for the 4 of us. It’s in a great neighborhood and close to downtown and has the cutest yard. The beds were comfy and everything is modern. Will definitely stay here again.

Really nice place for a short stay. The place was clean, appropriately appointed and worked out well. Only issue was with the plumbing/hot water. The hot water required several minutes to warm up. That means washing hands or a couple dishes was a cold water affair. Since we allowed the shower to warm up (also several minutes) and took back-to-back showers, that worked out okay but the water was barely warm enough for a tolerable shower. The issue was documented in the on-site literature but it's something that kept this from being a 5 star experience.

Nice quiet place but there are some things I thought could be improved and a big one not communicated through the ad. There is a cottage in the backyard that looks to be used full time by either the owner or other bookings. My issue is this was not mentioned in the ad at the time of booking. I happened to see a portion of it in one of the photos and asked the host about it, she was upfront about it, but it should be mentioned in the ad. If you feel like you'll have the property to yourself, you won't. The house was not clean. Floors and the area rug were dirty. The shower had stains, and when showering, the plumbing cannot keep up and fills the tub with water within a couple of minutes of use. The couch had crumbs on it like someone had just snacked there. If the host hired a maids service for the cleaning, they should demand their money back. Other than those issues it was a pleasant experience. It's a quiet neighborhood and the host is responsive. Good size kitchen, and BBQ in the backyard. Very close to downtown SLO but far enough that sound isn't an issue. It was the perfect size for our small party and one of the few houses I found to allow dogs.

A+. Well stocked kitchen, great fenced yards for dogs, beautiful landscaping, comfortable living area, and close to a beautiful park, a co-op grocery store, a fun restaurant and bar, and *great* pizza. Quiet neighborhood, easy parking, a short drive to downtown, the beaches, and wineries.

My family and I stayed here and it was the perfect place! Just a short walk to the famers market and close to Cal Poly. Pauline was always in contact with us before the trip. I would definitely stay here again!

The house was as described - very cute, newly renovated and has everything we wanted. Shared backyard was not a problem. Couldn't believe how close we were to everything - downtown dining, hikes near 101, and wineries! The house is 1/4 block off a main drag to downtown and wineries (other direction). neighborhood is older but well maintained/renovated and 2 blocks from a beautiful park.

We had so much fun at this little house, wonderfully designed and decorated for our stay in San Luis Obispo, as the babysitters for our daughter’s bachelor and bachelorette party with all of our family. We babysat two 16 month olds had a three year old. The house is simply put together, so it was simple to move out of the way any breakables. There are very few sharp edges and corners to worry about! 😉 The back and front yards are just a dream! Beautifully landscaped, and completely fenced in, front and back. Our toddlers had so much fun! Great property in a good location. Easy access to downtown and the university. Quiet and safe neighborhood. The house is clean, comfortable, well appointed and nicely upgraded. One of the best VRBO properties we have stayed in.

Enjoyed this lovely cottage. It was clean. Used the kitchen to make dinner for our Cal Poly child for her birthday. Thank you for letting us use this property. We will use it again if available.

We enjoyed our stay at this property immensely! It was in a great location and neighborhood. Very easy to get to downtown SLO either by car or by walking. Very close to the wineries as well. The house was very clean, updated and has everything you would need to feel at home. Wonderful front and back yard. All is fenced in, so great if you travel with pets. We were all very comfortable and hope to come back and stay again sometime. We highly recommend this property!

Initially had an issue with check in but property manager handled it professionally and fairly. Overall home was perfect and well located to downtown SLO. Would absolutely stay here again.

The house is well maintained, very nicely decorated with it seems like new appliances. Kitchen is well equipped. Bedrooms are comfortable. Nice neighborhood. Happy with our stay.

Great location and close to everything. Beautiful house & yard and dog friendly. There is a small house on the property that is also rented out, but it worked out fine, but something to know.

We loved staying here and will definitely be back. Everything you'd need in a home, kitchen and full laundry. The location was perfect for doing all things around SLO. Morning coffee on the porch swing was my favorite. The water pressure is unreal - so great! The property manager was super responsive too. There is a studio cottage in back too, if you're needing a smaller space. I did smell a hint of "dog" in the house (but we're dog people so it was no bother, but if you're allergic you should know this.) The master bed was pretty soft (we like a firmer mattress, so again, all preference). This place was fabulous.

Tastefully updated home with a large deck and garden in front and back. Garden shared with a bungalow but there are private areas for both. Close to everything around SLO. No cable. Highly recommend!

My partner and my parents and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was clean, cute and had everything we needed! The location was great as well. Our only regret is that we weren’t able to spend more time relaxing at the house. We were in town for a wedding and were out and about a lot. We definitely recommend this listing and will be returning next time we’re in SLO!

Everything was exactly as the description says-such a well appointed home in a cute area-loved the back yard also. I almost don't want to tell people how great this property is, as I am worried it will be booked up any other time I want to stay there!

This wonderful little house has everything you need. It feels brand new and the owner has provided everything you need for a great stay. The porch swing was my favorite spot. Didn't get to use the amazing patio and bbq which looked perfect for a summer's eve. Highly suggest walking across Broad to the SLO Co-op where you can buy great local groceries!

This property was perfect for us! This was the first time traveling with our 3 month old son and it worked out wonderfully. We would love to stay again next year. Everything was clean and well stocked! Thank you Pauline!

Great house in great location with great host. We stayed here for 4 glorious weeks in Jan/Feb 2022 during a lucky spell of amazing weather, Pauline is a fantastic host she and her house were everything we could have asked for. One note of caution: the house is perfect for 2 people - any more than that and it might be a bit too "cozy".

This house is so cute and situated close to downtown. Met all of our needs. The host is really responsive and considerate.

First, 3 stars is fine. Our experience wasn't above average or excellent. It was mediocre.THE GOOD: The location was fantastic. Walk downtown in 20 min and drive to a beach in 17. Seemed to have pretty much everything there we needed. Stores were so close, if we needed something is was a minute or two drive away. CVS, Safeway, etc... Whole Foods was further, but still quick.THE NOT GOOD: I took off one star because the property has TWO rental units on it and you share a yard. That was never made clear and the sole reason we picked this place is because of the backyard and our dogs. But you couldn't leave them outback unattended. This completely inhibited our stay and when I messaged the owner about it, she was very NBD about it. But then...I took off another star because the description says sleeps 6 with a pull out queen sofa. There was NO SLEEPER SOFA and when I contacted the owner, she said she changed the couch but forgot to update the listing. She asked if she could come by with an inflatable queen. It was late so we declined. My teen son slept on sofa cushions on the floor b/c the couch, while comfortable, doesn't have removable back cushions, so unless you're a toddler, you won't have enough space. The next morning she kindly messaged me back asking if we'd like to try the air mattress. I said yes. Never heard back. In hindsight, I don't think a queen air mattress would have fit. It's a cozy home and if you plop anything larger than a twin bed in the living you, you won't have any space to walk around. Last, and not star reduction worthy, but worth stating. after two nights, we called our trip short. I messaged the owner and told her we'd be leaving a day early. She didn't ask why. Just said okay, thank you. That really bothers me. If someone was leaving a full day early, either there's an emergency or they're unhappy. I would want to know either way. IN SUM: This was our least favorite experience for a vacation home rental. We're very low key people. I've got dogs and kids, I can roll with anything. But paying for something we didn't get with zero regrets by the home owner isn't acceptable. The description is WRONG. We paid and stayed based on the description with no price adjustment or thought from the owner. That's really all you need to know.

The house was great. Drive way a bit of a tripping hazard. Did not realize TV did not have cable when I booked. The backyard was fabulous we spent most of our time out there including meals.
