About this bed and breakfast

Lovely 1 bd / 1 ba (1,100 sq ft) "casita" (guesthouse) nestled on an acre in the beautiful North Valley. Enjoy large, lush yard shaded by cottonwoods in the Rio Grande's bosque. Walking distance to cafe, bookstore and more (~1/2 mi). Short drive to Old Town, Downtown, UNM, and Balloon Fiesta Park. Adjacent to the bosque trails that lace the North Valley (walking access to the nature center, miles of trails, & area wildlife). Beautiful yard and pool are shared. Lots of parking. Dogs / Pets negotiable.

Guest access: Guests have full access to the casita and shared access to the yard and pool. Plenty of parking on property.

Guest interaction: Typically, we'll be available should there be a need. If we are not available, a backup person will be arranged and made available should anything come up.

Neighborhood overview: Walking distance to a Flying Star Cafe, a neighborhood bookstore, Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, and more. Short drive to old town (3 mi, 10 min), downtown (5 mi, 15 min), UNM / Nob Hill (8 mi; 15 min), and Balloon Fiesta Park (8 mi, 20 min). Other destinations also within reach like Santa Fe (1 hr), Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge (1 1/2 hrs), Bandalier National Monument (2 hrs). So much else to do to in the area: Route 66; the super cool Explora (one of the best kids museum); Horseback riding, biking, hiking, and more; PetroGlyphs National Monument; the Torquoise Trail; the BioPark (Zoo, aquarium, botanic garden); Hot Air Balloon rides; Indian Pueblo Cultural Center; Sandia Peak Tramway; Nuclear Science Museum; ABQ International Balloon Museum; National Hispanic Cultural Center; International Rattlesnake Museum; amazing sky gazing parties nearby; and more. Heck, there is even the Breaking Bad tours : ]

Getting around: Lots of walking trails all across the North Valley's acequia's (access adjacent to the property) and along the Rio Grande River. Walking to coffee shop / restaurant as well as book stores and more. Driving to other amenities like old town, down town, etc

Other things to note: Primary bed is a Casper mattress (queen size). Yard and pool are shared. We live in the other house on property.

TV includes Netflix and Disney+ streaming.

Wifi is high end, high speed “ORBI” whole house wifi system.

Note: The cooling system is a new "evaporative cooler" system. Portable traditional A/C also in the unit.

Note: the pool is typically open and heated to 82 degrees May 15 through Balloon Fiesta (and closed during the winter months).
