About this cabin rental

Our cozy, yet spacious chalet is located where Mi-Wuk Village meets the Stanislaus National Forest. The chalet is on over half an acre and has three levels with more than 1600 square feet. Mi-Wuk Village is above the snow line, yet only 150 miles from the Bay Area.

The main floor opens into a cathedral ceilinged room that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen. Sliding glass doors lead out to a large deck with a beautiful view of the forest and the sounds of a stream. This floor has two bedrooms and a full bath. Upstairs is a large loft bedroom with a half bath. Downstairs is a large family room with two pull-out couches (comfy for sitting and sleeping), another full bath and laundry.

The Stanislaus National Forest is Hearthstone’s backyard. Discover great hiking at various difficulty levels or just hang out on the deck and enjoy the view and sounds. The cabin has games, puzzles, and a hammock. Pinecrest Lake, which is 15 minutes away, offers swimming, boat rentals (kayaks, paddle-boats, canoes, sailboats, and motorboats), and great fishing.

The small town of Mi-Wuk Village is one mile away and Twain Harte has great shopping just three and a half miles down the mountain. Enjoy wildflowers in the spring. And in the winter, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is only 15 miles away. Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding are nearby.

The cabin easily sleeps 10 people. Each bedroom on the main floor has a queen-size bed. The loft bedroom has a queen-size bed and two twin beds. The two full-size futon couches in the family room make into comfortable beds. Each bed has a warm, down comforter and soft pillows. There are plenty of extra blankets. We now have full cleaning service, so no need to do any laundry prior to leaving.

The well-equipped kitchen is stocked with basic spices, oils, and condiments and has place settings for 10. We have sleds in the winter and inner tubes for the summer. A washer and dryer are in the family room. There is a large screen smart TV with streaming in the downstairs rec room.

We ask that guest bring a maximum of 3 cars in the winter due to limited parking.

We had a great stay at this cabin for our ski trip to Dodge Ridge. The location is convenient—about a 28-minute drive to the slopes—and the cabin itself was spacious and quite comfortable for our group of six.The host was very gracious and prompt in communication, making the whole process easy. The beds were quite comfortable, and the heating system, including a heat pump and multiple automatic furnaces, kept the cabin warm throughout our stay. The basement was a great space for our older boys (20 and 16) to hang out and relax after a strenuous day on the slopes, play darts, and watch TV.And we have to mention the tap water—it was delicious, crips and fresh! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy and well-equipped place near Dodge Ridge.

We just got back from our stay at this beautiful quiet place. It was perfect for a family of 6. The kids loved the fact that they all had beds and enjoyed the quiet family room down stairs. The wife and I had enough space to have our own little quiet time and drink some wine. It is also located close to dodge ridge and Leland high sierra snow play.. can’t wait for next year, hopefully this place will be available.

Our host could not have done more to make our stay a pleasant one. The cabin had everything you might need and more. We spent many lovely hours on the large deck enjoying the surrounding trees. We’re already planning a return stay.

My husband and I with my son, DIL, and granddaughters ages 6 & 9 stay for the week. There was plenty of games and stuff for the kids and a well appointed kitchen to cook in. The house is roomy and cozy and had easy heating since it was snowing. We will return!

My family had a great time here. Some of us spent time at dodge ridge snowboarding. Others went sledding nearby. We had 3 couples with 1 infant and 1 teen. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. I would rent here again.

Had a relaxing restful time at Hearthstone with just myself and my cat Buddy. He enjoyed learning about stairs for the first time and loved being “crazy-kitty” jamming up and down them. The cabin and location is a great combination. It's surrounded by tall cypress trees. It's quiet and peaceful. We fantasize living off grid in the woods and this cabin is perfect for that. We would love to come back again during the snow season. Next to the stair is a long down slop perfect for sledding. They have coat and sledding equipment's available.

Cozy mountain chalet in the Sierra foothills, with plenty of outdoor activities; such as, hiking, boating, gold panning, wine tasting. The chalet has plenty of room for big family. Very kid friendly. It offers all the amenities, fully stocked kitchen (minus food of course). The baths were clean and well stocked, beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

The cabin is very homey! It is well equipped with household stuff - complete kitchen and dining utensils, cleaning materials, and supplies. We were a big group but we (with our fur babies) had plenty of space to move around, deck included. We really enjoyed our stay!

My husband, 13-year old Chihuahua Kupcake and I went to Rinda's cabin for the weekend to escape the stress of the work week, to relax and unwind! Rinda's excellent communication made for a smooth ride there with easy to follow directions and instructions on everything within the cabin. There was a huge deck with plenty of seating and a nice propane BBQ. We drank wine and enjoyed the views of the pine trees and watched the squirrels play in the backyard. My parents came up for one night and we played games and totally relaxed under the stars! Thank you so much Rinda! Can't wait to come back. -The Higgins Family

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We made a couple trips to Pine Crest lake. We enjoyed watching the deer ,squirrels and turkeys. The cabin it self was very comfortable. We spent our morning drinking coffee on the deck and then also enjoyed eating dinner out there as well. There was only about 4 hours of the day that it was to hot to enjoy it. The property manager Rinda was super helpful and answered all questions quickly. We had put a pet deposit down when we booked our trip but our dog passed before our trip and she refunded our deposit which was really nice. I highly recommend this cabin it isn’t fancy but it is functional and very peaceful get away.

This cabin was perfect for our family. We planned to spend our time at PineCrest lake which was only about a 20 minute drive! Although it was June the weather was 60 degrees. Much cooler than anticipated but it was fine ! the cabin offered everything we could have needed for our family of 6. Very spacious. Very clean. Feels like home as soon as you enter. Check in was easy ! Instructions are clear ! Communication with Rinda was quick and easy. Really lovely. We have 4 small children and they LOVED all the games , movies, toys they had available! We slept downstairs on pull out couches even though there were 5 beds to sleep in . The couches were so comfortable we had a slumber party / movie night with our kids and all fell asleep peacefully Very fast Wi-Fi and streaming services! The grill worked great. Plenty of outside seating to enjoy the beautiful view of the forest. Being nestled in a quite neighborhood makes u feel safe and still getting that wilderness feel! The backyard was fun to explore. We set up a tent for a camping experience for the kids. Overall it was nice to be In a place so safe and and relaxing with our kids. Minimal so there’s not a lot for kids to mess with but has all essential needs covered! The heat worked GREAT for the colder nights. Very well maintained property. Will definitely be booking this cabin for the winter season to experience the snow in comfort! Do not hesitate to rent this property!

We enjoyed the stay here with our friends. This is exactly what the property description says, a nicely maintained cabin with lots of sleep space. Fast internet connection was a huge plus for us. Rinda was keeping in touch and responding to inquiries quickly, great communication. Easy street parking, driveway can be a little challenging if you need to use it.

Because of winter storms the garbage truck was not able to take trash but it is not always like that it is usually clean and tidy ! We were still able to enjoy our stay at the cabin and enjoy time with friends and family . The location of the cabin is perfectlt nestled in the beautiful forest !

We returned to Hearthstone after many years away and it was all that we hoped for in our family getaway. The house accommodated our family including the new baby of the group. The location at Mi-Wuk Village was perfect for our autumn walk around Pinecrest Lake and a trip up to Calaveras Big Trees. We enjoyed each other and the surrounding trees and fall colors. We will keep Hearthstone in mind for future trips. We are grateful for our time there.

We had a lovely time in the cabin. The restrictions for the fires limited our exploration in the forest, but the cabin itself has a great quiet location. We even saw some deer out behind the house! Hostess was responsive and friendly. Some of the furniture was in disrepair but overall we enjoyed very much our stay.

Loved the separation of the sleeping areas. Teenagers slept downstairs, grade-school age children slept in loft and adults slept on the main floor. Lots of family adventures in the surrounding areas and family game times in the cabin. The only downside was housekeeping: found a child's tee shirt sticking out from under the bed and the porch needed a good sweep, making me wonder how through the house had been prepared for new occupants. The kitchen and the three bathrooms - one on each of the levels, linens, etc. were clean. We would definitely stay there again.

We chose Hearthstone Chalet to have my grandson's 2nd birthday celebration. Small party size but huge expectations for a wonderful 3 day getaway for us. We were blown away by the everyday amenities offered. We overpacked because we didn't expect so much to be available to us. This made our stay so convenient. We wanted for nothing. The set-up is adorable and cozy. The neighborhood was beautiful and great for walks. The music, games, books, and little touches say a lot about the coolness of the owner, and we fell in love with the place. We will definitely go again in the winter but there are already talks about going even sooner. If you're looking for a rustic cabin feel, roomy, relaxing, safe, quiet, and fully loaded with your everyday needs, I highly recommend this cabin. Rinda, don't change your pricing or how you operate your cabin. You have a gem in this place.
