Be our guest at this beautiful Northern Michigan vacation home. This 2,000 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 2 bath lodge style home is nestled among towering hardwoods and offers scenic views of Cedar Lake. The interior features knotty pine, exposed log beams, ceramic tile, and a cozy fireplace.
Enjoy watching wildlife roam through the yard from your 100 feet of private frontage on Cedar Lake. The home is thoughtfully designed with family fun in mind and includes separate areas for adults and children, making it comfortable for families and multi-generation groups.
THE HOME
The main great room features an HD TV with Roku, a DVD player, and a DVD library, making it a comfortable space for relaxing after a day on the lake.
The walkout basement includes a pool table, board games, an HD TV with Roku, and a PlayStation 2 with games. This lower-level space is ideal for kids, teens, and casual evening entertainment while allowing adults to enjoy quieter time upstairs.
THE LAKE AND LOCATION
Cedar Lake is a peaceful no-wake fishing lake, ideal for morning coffee kayak trips, fishing with the family, or simply relaxing by the water. It is quiet, scenic, and never crowded.
The home is off the beaten path yet centrally located in one of Northern Michigan’s most desirable vacation areas. Located just west of downtown Traverse City, you are only minutes from Empire, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Old Mission Peninsula. It is an excellent home base for exploring everything Northern Michigan has to offer.

The property was great! The house was very clean and comfortable, and check-in was easy. The lake was a perfect size with excellent fishing (mostly bass and bluegill). We used the pontoon a lot and didn’t even go through half of the gas provided, so that was a very nice perk. Kayaks were great, too. We also enjoyed both firepits - one up near the house and one on the dock. There were 3 Adirondack chairs in good condition and several other plastic outdoor chairs. The deck had a nice 6-seat outdoor table, and the charcoal grill was in good shape. Kitchen was well-stocked but would benefit from having a nonstick pan.Docking one star for some of the issues we experienced while we were there. The biggest issue was that the water was extremely iron-y. No big deal for drinking as we just bought water bottles, but the smell was pretty bad for brushing teeth and showering. The biggest issue was that the iron in the water stained our clothes in the laundry to the point of ruining some items. It made the washing machine completely unusable for light colored items. A few other maintenance issues were encountered throughout the house, but the hosts resolved them very quickly. Overall, the hosts were extremely communicative and paid to replace our ruined clothes, but it was not a fun thing to deal with.If you’re looking for an upscale camping vibe with great amenities, this fits the bill. We would definitely stay here again, just wouldn’t do laundry!

The property was in good condition. During the summer there is only a very small view of the lake from the house, however that's because the property is so wooded. I'll note that the property has well water that is completely untreated. I think it's technically safe to drink but it tastes bad and smells like eggs. As long as you bring a lot of bottled water or jugs of water you should be OK. Don't wash any clothes that are too precious to you as the well water gave some of our clothes rusty streaks. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you prepare for the well water, this is a really great place to stay.

Great place to slow down for a week. Plenty of room for 6 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. The kids loved the swingset and sand box! I loved that it was back away from the road and a bit of a walk away from the lake as well which allowed the kids to run and play more freely. It was even back on a nice quiet road to take our dogs on walks everyday. Would definitely come back! It was about 20-25 minutes away from everything we wanted to see (and only 8 minutes from an adorable little town with park and a Dollar General for those quick runs to grab things) Loved everything about our stay, and the host was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions! House was well-stocked with all the essentials.

My entire family of adult kids and partners enjoyed a wonderful week together! While the main room is not huge, we all managed to find a space to watch the FIFA World Cup games. Be aware that there is not a sandy entry or bottom to the lake and our white dogs came out looking like half and halves! No worries as there was a hose available to spray them down. It was wonderful having the pontoon boat available to spend time as a group out on the water. Some of our party had paddle boards and we all spent hours fishing off the boat. Only caught one, but the competition was fierce! If you have little ones( people or dogs!) bring a baby gate and you can let them free on the deck after blocking off the entrance. The only problem was that the dishwasher didn't seem to clean very well - we had to essentially prewash before putting anything in there. We appreciate having an owner open to dogs and larger groups at an affordable rate! Thanks Lizzie!
