The shared 70' Dock is ample for relaxing, fishing and enjoying sunsets in the evening and coffee in the mornings. Conveniently located between Camps Seagull and Seafarer, the cottage is only 10 minutes away from Oriental, the sailing capitol of North Carolina. A free ferry ride across the Neuse and a short drive will take you to Beaufort, Morehead City, and the world-renowned beaches of the Crystal Coast. Historic New Bern is just up the river, and the tri-county area has an abundance of restaurants – from Mom'n'Pop shrimpburgers to 4-star International Cuisine. Journey’s End features a knotty-pine interior with three bedrooms, a large open living space, a custom built outside shower, and a fully-stocked kitchen. A sleeping porch with expansive river views and breezes will be the perfect beginning to your Journey's End. Cottage comfortably accommodates eight, and rents from Saturday to Saturday. Our family of 4 adults and 1 teen loved this cottage. We had never been to this part of NC and loved being able to look out on the Neuse River, which is more like a lake! The porch on the back is bright and comfy and you can watch the water change during all weathers. Loved eating our meals out there at the big table. The dock was our other main place, so sturdy and nice sunshade. We fished and crabbed and just hung out. The water and sky are always changing and so relaxing.Also enjoyed the club pool and taking the ferry over to Atlantic Beach.Check-in was easy, kitchen was very nicely stocked, wifi worked well, cottage was very clean.Can't say enough nice things about the owner Terry. She genuinely cares that you have a wonderful vacation and enjoys sharing her family cottage and the river with everyone. She went out of her way to answer our questions. I would definitely return to Journey's End!

My wife and I stayed here for July 4th weekend. It was so peaceful and quiet. The views from the back porch were awesome. We will be back.

The property provides access to the Neuse River from the backyard with a dock to kayak and fish. More upfront details should be provided related to one bathroom in the house and a shower outside in the yard before booking. The listing stated two bathrooms. Also, the house's bathroom has to be accessed by either walking through the connected bedroom or going through the enclosed front porch. The enclosed front porch is not heated and has windows facing the street. My family member who slept in another room was not comfortable utilizing the front porch at night or early in the morning to use the house bathroom. I would not have booked this location if I had known the details of the house bathroom.
