About this apartment rental
A modern & comfortable fully appointed 2 bed/ 2 bath apartment with living room, full kitchen, and dining area. Perfect for 1 or 2 couples or a couple of friends who want a comfortable yet modern and elegant place to enjoy their time on one of America's best beaches!
Located in the heart of the action in Avon. Walk to the beach in 2 minutes for Sun, Surf, and Relaxation. Or spend some time trying your luck at catching some fish from the Avon Fishing Pier* - also located directly across the street from The Green Room. Additionally, guests can take advantage of the discounts on Surfing Lessons and Rental Surfboards, Paddleboards, Bodyboards, Skimboards, Kayaks, and Wetsuits offered by Hatteras Island's best surf shop - Hatteras Island Boardsports.
The Green Room rental apartment unit is outfitted with king size beds in both bedrooms, flat screen televisions in both bedrooms as well as the living area, blu-ray player in the living area, stainless steel appliances, stone counter tops, and laminate wood flooring. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, plates & silverware, glasses & wine glasses, toaster, blender, coffee maker, Full size refrigerator with water and ice in the door, dishwasher, stove, oven and microwave.
The comfortable living area has a 50" flat screen HDTV with Blu-Ray player, and iPod/iPhone docking stereo system. If you need a little extra sleeping area than the 2 King size beds the living room sofa folds out to a queen size bed.
The bathrooms are equipped with linens for 4 people (additional linens are available for an additional charge) and hairdryers.
The bedrooms each have luxurious king size beds, full size dressers, closets with hangers, and 32" flat screen televisions.
Modern HE (High Efficiency) clothes washer and dryer are provided in the apartment so there's no need to go home with dirty laundry or run out of clean laundry during your stay.
Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor day, all guests of The Green Room have access to the private Kinnakeet Shores pool, pickleball, and tennis court facilities. Located approximately 1 mile south of The Green Room the Kinnakeet Shores facility has an Olympic sized pool, kiddie pools, and regulation sized pickleball and tennis courts. Easily bike, walk, or drive/park to Kinnakeet Shores from The Green Room and enjoy the membership only facilities. *
Unlike most rentals on Hatteras Island, The Green Room does not require a full week rental.
Staying with a large group of friends or family for the week in a big house and want to come early or stay on the island longer and need a more intimate setting? A few additional days on either end of those types of rentals in The Green Room is a great opportunity to extend your stay.
Policies:
RATES: All listed rates are based on a max. 4 person occupancy, with a minimum 3 night stay. Up to 2 additional guests are allowed, for a total of 6 occupants, however, for each additional guest there is a $5 per night/per extra guest fee.
DEPOSIT: A deposit of 50% of the net room rate is required. The full balance of the rental rate is due 60 days prior to the reservation check-in date.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Deposits are fully refundable up to 60 days before the start of your reservation. Payment is due in full at 60 days prior to the reservation date. A 50% refund of the full rental payment is available for cancellations made 59 -30 days prior to the start of your reservation. Within 30 days guests are responsible for the full cost of the reservation, no refunds will be given. Within 30 days of your reservation, booked dates cannot be transferred to later dates. There are NO weather related refunds, except for the case of a mandatory evacuation. Only dates covered in an evacuation order will be refunded. Within 30 days, as long as there is no evacuation order from Dare County, guests are responsible for payment of their booked dates - NO EXCEPTIONS. While we understand that emergencies happen, the reason for cancellation does not change our cancellation or refund policy.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRAVEL INSURANCE so that you are protected from any unexpected circumstances that may keep you from being able to keep your reservation. Please look online for the best travel insurance for you. While we understand that emergencies happen, the reason for cancellation does not change our cancellation or refund policy. Travel insurance will help reimburse you for your costs if you are not able to keep your reservation and your cancellation does not qualify for a refund under our cancellation policy. Travel insurance is easy to purchase and can save you a lot of frustration and money in the event that you cannot keep your reservation. Please be aware that Hatteras Island is in an area that has frequent tropical activity (hurricanes, tropical storms, etc.) and that Dare County does not always issue an evacuation order for these events. If you do not want to keep your reservation if a storm event is approaching we cannot refund your payment without an official evacuation order. Travel insurance will help you cover costs that we cannot refund. We cannot stress how important it is to purchase travel insurance. Please be sure to look online to find the best policy for you.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: Guests of all ages are welcome at The Green Room, however the person making the reservation must be a minimum age of 25 years old. This person must be the one to make the reservation, sign the paperwork at check in, and he/she must be staying at The Green Room for the duration of the rental period.
ADDITIONAL POLICIES: The Green Room is a smoke-free and pet-free property. Guests that do not adhere to these rules will be evicted immediately with no refund, and any damages will be charged to the credit card on file.
*Access to the Kinnakeet Shores pool, pickleball, tennis courts are subject to those facilities availability. Guest who might experience closures to those facilities (extremely rare and not expected) due to maintenance or other reason will not receive any type of reimbursement for inability to access those amenities.

We escaped to this lovely apartment for a long holiday weekend. Located I the heart of Avon we didn’t need a car at all our bikes suited us just fine. We were content and felt at home with everything we needed

It was very nice everything within walking distance. Clean owner was very friendly. Only thing is if you have trouble with steps there are 26 steps in and out of room, we were fine though. Fire work display at pier was amazing and again no driving just walk across the street.

We spent a long weekend meeting up with family who were staying just a mile away. The location was perfect—conveniently close to the beach, great restaurants, and plenty of island amenities. The 2-bedroom space was clean and well-appointed, with a stocked kitchen (though we’d recommend bringing extra spices if you’re planning to cook often). Having an in-house washer and dryer was a huge plus!Sheets and towels were provided, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Do note that there’s a set of stairs leading up to the entrance, which was manageable for us but worth keeping in mind if anyone in your group requires accessibility accommodations.Kevin, the owner, was 100% communicative and readily available for any questions, which made our stay even smoother.Nearby essentials were super convenient—Food Lion is just a mile to the right, with the community pool just before it (and it definitely came in handy!). There are also several great dining options within walking distance. We especially enjoyed Ketch 55 and The Mad Crabber for dinner, and Muffins & Scones for breakfast—they had delicious options, including gluten-free items.A quick tip: bring your own reading material! There weren’t many options for books or magazines nearby, but we found a wonderful bookstore in Buxton—Buxton Village Books—that’s absolutely worth the trip.All in all it was a great stay and we would 100% return again to this location!!!

My friends and I visited the area for Kitesurfing. The Green Room is a short driving distance to most of the best kite spots and very close to Food Lion. We made good use of the kitchen, which was well stocked with basic ingredients and good equipment. Communication with Kevin was great and he even made a business meeting after check out time possible by letting my friend use his office space. We would definitely stay again!
