Fort Hill is a hike through a mature forest to the top of the ridge where a 2000 yr-old mystery of the Hopewell culture awaits. Hike more intense Buzzard's Roost, or check out the Arc of Appalachia's site for more challenging hikes. Or simply stay at the cozy cabin; you're likely to see deer and wild turkeys! This place is perfect if you’re wanting peace & quiet away from the hustle & bustle. We loved sitting on the porch listening to the storms come in and fishing at the pond catching fish after fish. We played games on the porch and in the lawn and grilled dinner each night. It was like camping with a really nice place to sleep & shower in. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from people. It was the perfect get-away for our family!

Our family had a wonderful vacation at the red barn !! It had everything we needed and more . Relaxing evenings on the porch and by the firepit . Fishing in the pond was perfect for the kids they caught lots of bluegill. We made delicious dinners on the grill and smores by the fire . The privacy/secluded area was perfect for our family to get some quality time together . Even our youngest had a blast playing on her playpin on the front porch . The weather was perfect and the hosts were wonderful 😊 would definitely return & recommend to others .

This place was beautiful. Very peaceful. Town was cute. We ate at Abbies for breakfast. We seen a couple deer. Fished the pond unfortunately we didnt catch any bass. We did catch a lot of bluegills. This is a place we talked of returning to. Btw the bathroom is gorgeous.

We’ve been to many cabins but the Red Barn is by far the most well stocked rental we have ever been to. Anything you could need was already made available. We brought our own metal sticks for the fire pit to make marshmallows for s’mores but that was really the only thing that was needed. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and there was enough seating for our family of four. The surrounding nature was beautiful. We woke one morning to a family of deer by the pond, multiple bunnies and birds, and even saw a blue tailed skink. We fished in the pond multiple times and managed to catch quite a few bluegill. There are nearby attractions as well such as Serpent Mound and Family Traditions Animal Adventures which our kids loved. Deb was very communicative and responsive to any questions we had. Thanks so much for a lovely long weekend!

We chose this place because of its proximity to serpent mounds and because it is beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. The barn is beautiful. It was the largest master bedroom we have stayed in and the alcove for our son to sleep in was perfect. The pond was frozen over from the recent blizzard but ironically enough it was almost 70 degrees. So we were able to sit outside on the porch, have a bonfire, lay in the hammock and explore the woods. Next time we will try to fish:) It was a great trip all around and the host sends very clear directions on how to enter the place prior which was helpful do to the spotty cell service.

Our family had a great time at the Red Barn! We were there in early spring so even though it was cold, we enjoyed the fishing pond, walking in the woods, the corn hole game on the beautiful porch, and the fire pit! Our baby relaxed on the rug in front of the fire, our teenager loved the sleeping nook, and our six year old had a great time with the games provided. The bath and shower were fabulous and the whole place was perfectly modern yet rustic. The hosts were great and informed us that we would have everything we needed and they were not wrong! We had plans to visit the Amish market and surrounding attractions but honestly we never left the property because it was so cozy and lovely. Thank you so much for letting us rent this barn, we will be back for sure!🖤

My husband and I have not taken a vacation in awhile. This was a nice trip. We enjoyed the beautiful cabin, along with the fishing. It was nice to get away from the sounds of the city. The only challenge for us personally was the stairs. We did not catch that the bedroom is upstairs. Other than that, it was perfect and I highly recommend renting from these owners.

This barn would best be described as rustic luxury. Super clean, super secluded, super decorated, super comfortable. Porch was so nice. We had two nights and a day of almost solid rain. But it did not spoil our fun. Great coffee house cafe in town, Greene Beanery. Cool antiques barn- Barn Sale Antiques. Great hiking at Buzzardroost Trailhead and also at the nature preserve a stone's throw from the barn. Bathtub super relaxing. We will certainly be back. Thank you for sharing your barn with us.

This was our first time booking a property like this through VRBO and it did not disappoint. The property was beautiful and the cabin was really clean. Everything was where they said it would be and check in couldn't have been easier. Deb was great and answered every question I had in a timely manner. The pond was a big hit with my boys who fished in it every day. The free firewood was a nice bonus, though it was a little "green" and split rather large which made getting it to burn difficult. Fortunately I had brought a little from home just in case and so we were able to get it hot enough to burn the provided firewood. My only complaint is that the listing mentions that this is on a private lot of acreage, and it may be. But what we did not expect was that another cabin/house would be as close as it was. They were close enough that every day, all day long we could hear them screaming and carrying on. Whether it was loud music, or language I would have preferred by young boys not to hear, it did get annoying at times because we were really hoping the only people we would hear were the ones we ran into when we went into town. It by no means ruined our trip, but I wish I would have known ahead of time that another house was so close, in fact at night we could see their lights through the woods. But, overall it was a great place to stay and I would despite a few things I didn't care for, still recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a few days.

This was the perfect weekend getaway. We were able to relax & enjoy the peace & quiet. We caught and released so many fish from the pond! My family fished all weekend, even in the rain. The cabin is cute, and it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. My only worry was that the kids bed was on a different floor than the master bedroom but my son did great. He loved the curtain to give himself privacy and the provided nightlight was a great touch for his space. Thank you for a much needed relaxed weekend!!

Dad and I went there for an early father's day getaway and had a great time! pond Was little smaller but didn't take away anything from the trip! the ONLY thing we wished would have been provided was fire sticks for hotdogs and marshmallows, but other than that, they had everything you would need! we would highly recommend if you want relaxing, quiet and a chance to slow down from the pace of normal everyday life!

Our family has stayed in many cabins in the last couple years, but this place has topped that list of favorites. The Cali King bed is incredible !! I took a nap in the hammock, my family fished, we went exploring, played cornhole. And had a fire. The place is beautiful. We love being in the middle of the woods, and that’s exactly what this was. Beautiful bathtub- my dream bath tub. I was able to relax and read a book in. My daughter said it was the best weekend ever! She’s already begging to go back for her birthday next month. To send this place from 99% to 100% is a nice little hot tub! The little details I noticed was awesome. This place is something my husband and I dream of having years from now. I spent days trying to find the perfect place to stay, and if you’re questioning where to stay, PICK THIS PLACE !

There is a king size bed upstairs and a twin bed and an air mattress that worked great downstairs for our kids. It is very evident that the owners take great care of their place, and they were super easy to communicate with and helpful if needed. We enjoyed hours out at the fire pit, and our kids loved exploring in the woods. Although it was early in the season, we were able to make a few casts into the stocked pond and took a quick day trip to the serpent mound and an Amish bakery near by. The best part was just enjoying peace and quiet around the fire with family. It was a beautiful setting!
