The farmhouse PODERE CUNINA is a farm-holiday location within this system of architectural and landscape recovery that fully respects its environment. Traditional materials typical of the area, sourced via accurate and detailed research, were used for the renovation. Located inside a large nature reserve, with many small and medium-sized woodland animals, it offers 7 finely-renovated flats to tourists, with views of Montalcino, Mount Amiata and the hills of Buonconvento and Siena. It is equipped throughout with quality, antique furniture, fitted with all modern comforts, with maximum level certification regarding safety and energy saving (underfloor heating via geothermal system, thermal insulation, pool).
The location of the agriturismo is perfect. Minutes from charming Buonconvento, and less than 30 minutes from multiple other beautiful Tuscan hilltop towns like Montalcino(which can be seen from the house),Siena Pienza, Montepulciano, S.QuiricoThis makes relaxing day trips possible and still allows time to return to enjoy Podere Cunina. The family has done an amazing job restoring this property and it's location is breathtaking. This makes relaxing day trips possible and still allows time to return to enjoy Podere Cunina. The grounds are well landscaped with natural herbs everywhere, which were used in the cooking class.
We live in the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia lans, just South of Siena. They are the best typical tuscan landscapes! (world heritage under the protection of UNESCO with the Val d’Orcia)

This area of Tuscany is intensely beautiful and within easy reach of many of the most significant cultural sites in Italy ( Siena is 30 minutes away, Florence 100 minutes, Assisi 2 hours, Rome: two and half, Pisa 2 h, the wonderful Maremma sea one and half). It’s very close to some of the major wine centers of Italy and, indeed, the world. Montalcino is on our doorstep and MOntepulciano less than an hour’s journey. The area offers great opportunities for walking, riding, or cycling through spectacular, rolling countryside

The property and grounds are meticulously maintained and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Our apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. Silvana was very helpful with providing us information about the area and even got us a dinner reservation on a busy holiday weekend. We were able to easily travel to Siena and other local towns from the property. The pool looked lovely but it was too cool to enjoy it when we were there. There are several areas around the property to sit and enjoy the quiet beauty. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do it! You will not be disappointed. It is amazing! We hope to return someday.

Very charming and exceptionally beautiful scenery. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer. It’s a bit rustic, but I enjoyed that about it. My only critique would be that it needs more pillows. Other than that it was fantastic, quiet, perfectly set in the Tuscan hills, and relaxing. It would be a good idea to bring groceries with you as there is not a way to get food conveniently without driving to a nearby town. Montalcino is just a 10-15 minute drive and charming and Siena is about 30 minutes away, but worth the drive to see the beautiful cathedral (one of my favorite sites I’ve seen during our trip).

Our family had a fantastic time at Podere Cunina. The views are absolutely breathtaking and our hosts, Silvana and Piergiorgio, were warm and welcoming. Take a cooking class with Marcello, if you can. Our apartment was perfect for our family of four - clean, well-appointed and decorated beautifully. If you’re looking for peace, quiet and natural beauty, this is your place!

Firstly, if you are seeking a base from which to explore Tuscany around the Sienna area, then you really must consider staying at Podere Cunina. The location itself is wonderful - with stunning views in all directions. We just loved watching the scenery as the light changed through the day - be it the sunrise, sunset, the early morning mist in the valley, the distant views of Sienna - or the picturesque view of Montalcino.The second reason for staying here are the wonderful apartments. We stayed in the the Morus apartment for 2 weeks - and truly appreciated the detail and quality that had been applied by Silvana and Piergiorgio. Upon arrival, Silvana gave us a map with recommendations of what to do and where to go - and was always at hand if needed to provide further advice.There also a great walk to the distant 'big tree' - which takes app 50 minutes to reach. As well as a good excuse for keeping fit, the walk provides further stunning views of the distant hills, mountains and volcano. Over the years, through business, I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively - and stayed in some truly lovely hotels and great settings. Nonetheless, I have to say, in terms of the quality of the apartment, plus the stunning views and opportunity to relax and unwind, that Podere Cunina is right there at the top of list!
