About this villa rental
Located on a private hill above Lorient Beach, Villa Le Refuge is a lovely West Indies style home. Enjoy stunning panoramic views of the blue ocean and uninhabited offshore islands of Chevreau, Fregate and Toc Vert. This villa is perfectly located in a relaxed setting with complete privacy (no neighbors above), only a short walk down to Lorient Beach or 7-minute drive to Gustavia port and other scenic beaches.
Le Refuge is a 3.0 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom split level villa with swimming pool and gardens. The first level bedroom and second level primary bedroom both have queen beds. The bedroom on the top level adjacent to the main living area has two twin beds (convert to king). Each bedroom has its own personal bathroom and separate air conditioning system. Two of the bedrooms and living room have traditional island style high-vaulted ceilings with white beam fans.
The living room and eat-in-kitchen area sport beautiful panoramic ocean views. The covered front terrace off the living room is the perfect place to enjoy group meals, relax with a glass of wine, and watch magnificent sunsets. Another private patio with outdoor shower head is located behind the villa. Soak up the sun poolside or take a 2-minute stroll down to Lorient Beach.

We've stayed at this villa several times & fall more in love with it with each visit.
For us an "awesome view" is key. We also prefer the more traditional West Indies design over something more modern. Le Refuge meets those requirements perfectly as it sits hillside looking down onto Lorient.
The villa is charming, roomy, and well appointed and cared for. The living room and connected kitchen has A/C, a nice bonus on those really hot days/evenings. Two of the bedrooms are large and separate from one another offering privacy, if traveling with another couple. The other bedroom, immediately off the living room & upper deck is smaller with twins. All have A/C with ensuite. The mattresses are great & the linens are all very nice (thick fluffy bath & beach towels).
The owner provides 4 sturdy beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, & ice chest. All handy for a day at the beach.
The upper porch is shaded most of the day, enabling one to enjoy the fabulous view, read, relax or eat. There is a large dining table there. While the lower pool deck, with 6 chaise lounges, offer more late morning/afternoon sun.
We don't tend to cook-in much but the kitchen meets all our needs for preparing snacks or light meals. There is no dishwasher but this is not an issue for us. There is a nice Weber gas grill on the back porch and there are plenty of nice serving dishes, dinner ware and colorful placemats to set a pretty table.
Another big plus about this villa is all the windows and doors have screens. With the concern of mosquitoes throughout the Caribbean this is a nice feature. The villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens that are well tended to.
The housekeeper, Colette, has always had the villa spotless upon our arrivals.
The villa is located on a family compound and they all respect your privacy, and are more than willing of offer help,
if needed.
If you book this villa, you'll be working with Annette, the owner's daughter. She is easy to work with and will answer any of your questions promptly.
We just returned from a recent stay at Le Refuge and have already booked a return. Le Refuge is a wonderful villa to create special memories either as a couple, family or with friends.
